No Certainty or False Certainty?

I vote for False Certainty. It leads to a lot of stupid actions.

Stupid actions lead to hatred so I vote for no certainty, it leads to 'whatever' - which is better than hate.. ;) (or are we getting into basic law here?)

By voting for something, I meant voting that the something is the worse of the two, not the better.

No Certainty is FAR WORSE!!!

I'm a frakin' moderate... without False Certainty I couldn't make fun of the left or the right.

Or the religious nuts...

Or the cookie-nazis...

Sincerely,
ElSol

Power corrupts
absolute power corrupts absolutely
but
it rocks absolutely too. :)

After searching for the truth I came to the conclusion that my little brain can't process it.

So awe of the mystery is my deal.

Certainty scares me.

Confidence of the possible odds is one thing, but betting on a sure thing on little to no evidence is bad.

Now I am confused and that IS rare.

No certainty leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leads to the dark side.

On the other hand the stupid actions miss out the anger so get to the dark side quicker. Like a 49 bus. Or a taxi south of the river after 11 at night.

No one rules absolutely. All rulers rule with the conscent of the governed. IF that conscent is withdrawn, they rule no longer. Neither absolute monarchs (like charles of England, the romanoffs or the hapsbergs, nor absolute dictators Hitler, Musilini, Tojo, Nor emperors, like Napoleon or Octavious.

The Romans realized this and spent millions on games, publkic baths, and runing water to keep the governed happy. Successful Monarchies do the same. When conscent is withdrawn, either y the infulence of foerign powers, as in Napoleon's case, or by violent revolutions, as in the case of Vietman or by peaceful revolutions as in India, the result is the same. The absolute ruler finds himself ruling only that space he can afford to buy for himself in exile.

I'll pass on the chap shot opportunity :)

In all seriousness, he has the conscent of the governed. In this case, we conscent to a represenative process where we know we may end up with someone we personally disagree with, but we conscent to the system, ergo, we conscent to rule by the person that system put sin power for four to eight years.

But why do we get docos on how he is fooling you all? You never learned from Nixon? You consent to war with Iran, too? That is what we are hearing - afterall - there are terrorists in Iran and they have nuclear arms! Woo Hoo! So when are you all going to say no to your government?

No certainty equals an open mind where new thoughts are allowed to be examined. False certainty kills off new ideas. Why do you need to examine something when you're already certain of it? And if your certainty turns out to be wrong you've just handicapped yourself.

Well stated. Sounds like my parents, as a matter of fact. They are SOOOO sure that they are going up in some "Rapture" and don't have to worry about global warming.

Anyway, thanks for returning to the topic. Everyone else now, too.
