It's because when we're writing up a story, and a character mentions that he's going to be using his hand, we don't have him say, "I'm going to make love to my dominant hand tonight." We have him say, "I'm making love to my right hand tonight...." (Which, given that only about 1 in 10 people is a lefty, is probably the dominant hand).

So that's why, when I got curious about it, I asked about right-left rather than dominant or non-dominant. It wouldn't tell me anything if everyone was saying, "I use my dominant hand." But I find it very interessting that far more than 1 of of 10 people here use their left (or both) rather than right.

I suspect, as mentioned, that internet porn has done a lot to help people become ambidextrous.
