Hi,

Simple question:

Which county produces the best porn films??

I’ll give my quick opinion - I live in Ireland so we have either European or UK / US.

(This list is not going to address the imbalances and differences between amateur and Pro porn and does care about straight / bi / gay etc).

I haven’t seen too much porn from UK so can’t comment. The US seems to have an endless stable of quality porn and theres nothing you can’t find and at various levels of quality.

But for me it comes down to a head to head between French and German porn - they’re neck and neck.
The French have Dorcel studios - their films are stuffed with amazing looking actors, great locations and fantastic scenarios.

The Germans are a porn powerhouse with amazing actors - Gina Wild / Connie Dax and then a huge range of scenarios etc

So what are your thoughts? Any suggestions?

Maybe because I didn't watch much of it until recently, but I have to say that Japan, if it is uncensored, is off the charts. The U.S. and Germany are true powerhouses so how can they be outclassed? It's sorta like, who doesn't like Oreo cookies, and along comes Japan and it is the Double Stuffed Oreo Cookie which you don't wanna like but damn it's good.

Thanks for being the one and only person who replied to post so far - that makes you a very unique individual! (Of course I have to apologise for the delay in replying ).
Tbh I haven’t watched too much Japanese porn because of the censorship and the pixelation - it’s very annoying. But you have given me something to go and look at and I shall report back if I have anything to share.

BTW - thanks again for replying to my post. I was a bit (very ?) tipsy when I wrote it and looking looking back, it reads very poorly indeed. I promise to do better and improve the quality of my OP in future.

FWIW, I don't see it in capitalistic senses, by nation.
Yes there are dominant established producers- a lot is boring and so formula driven as to be ignored, except they gain new viewers all the time.
However race, style and showing some 'reality' is why much amateur stuff is better than so-called professional outfits. 30 years ago 'Buttman' breathed some inelegant life into a morbid time.
I prefer Asians, some other niche areas and as mentioned Japanese- covers both good and bad of sexuality.
Those emerging nations that are creeping out from under a stone have their own misfiring agendas to contend with. Some of the pro 'work' can be extremely superficial, and dare I say legitimised abuse.

I mostly avoid eastern European porn with awkward accents. Stories and dialogue collapse immediately when they struggle with English. I prefer they speak their native languages with subtitles.

In lesbian porn, Australia was represented by Abby Winters, which was Garion Hall pretending to be a woman for marketing, until Australia passed some silly porn laws (no squirting and women must be busty so they don't look too young) and he moved to the Netherlands. The Australian scenes are known as his better work. He stopped producing recently, partly because he saw a permanent drop in quality. He couldn't get great scenes with available talent in Europe. Frankly couldn't care less what nation the porn I've enjoyed came from. There are national stereotypes available, but that's also both true within a nation and also false, as different studios, directors, and performers within a given area service different audiences with different degrees of success.

Beyond that, as (happily!) different people have different preferences, the studio you enjoy may be despised by your neighbor or the folks the next continent over. Add in each nation's twatting about with porn regulation, different societal norms and expectations, and what's mild one place is scorching hot or utterly disgusting elsewhere.

Japanese porn has a lot to offer, not only because the women are just plain pleasing but also because it appears real. They genuinely seem to enjoy what they're doing, whereas US porn - to me - seems forced and contrived - moving straight to extreme sex with no real foreplay - no sweet and easy in the lead up. Watching endless fucking gets boring whereas watching a good BJ is more stimulating. Those qualities are shared by several other Asian countries to some extent but Japan definitely leads, for me. In contrast, Kay Parker has always been a favourite of mine going back to the TABOO series of the 1980s. She worked in America but is Brit (if she's still alive. This is true, and I very much doubt every German producer is scrupulous or ethical. It does also need to be balanced, though, with proximity and convenience, allied to available finance. Thus, a girl in Budapest can be in the relatively prosperous German industry after an hour in economy, do a couple of days work, and then take another budget flight home in time for the weekend with, compared to most local producers, double or triple the pay (maybe more - I'm not au fait with relative pay rates). This gives the German producers power, of course, and it would be surprising if some (most?) of them didn't exercise that power.
