Myself.

Someone had to say it, right?

Definitely some of the more established members. Even though I've been on here for a while now, I still feel a bit intimidated by some of the more experienced members here. It's like sometimes I feel like a blip on the radar that suddenly shows up every now and again and then goes away just as quickly. I guess the answer to your question is most of the people here except the ones I already know. >.< Not much of an answer I know.

Can I start with you? :D

I like the people who post sparingly, but have interesting things to say. Not necessarily that they show their vast intellect or superior education, just some common sense (or heaven forbid...real life experience  ).

I've been lucky enough to chat with many of the people I wanted to know better. Of those I haven't....I find Nirvana fascinating because of her gentle spirit and beautiful way with words. Vella & Lucky strike me as people that I wish I could hang out with (and Rae is the sweetest thing ever). I want to see Boota's band play and have a beer with him. Trigger Hippie and Lady White Wolf have impressed me with several posts and I'm looking forward to hearing more from them. Kiten69 needs a good hugging and McKenna....well, you said to keep my mind out of the gutter, so never mind.

theegoatpig 'cos a guy with a handle like that has got to be worth getting to know :)

I'll come back with more when I've got'em. :)

Ok, for my serious answer i'd pick English_Lady, 'cause she's gorgeous and nice and I feel like I don't return the favor sometimes !

We all felt that way when we first joined. I was terrified of actually showing myself on the boards, I was lurking and reading for months before Lucky and the dear departed Colly both bullied me into getting my arse in here and joining in. I finally did it with a thread of my own about trolls, and that was it, away I went.

I don't think the 'experience' part is anything more than being a sad person who has nothing better to do than spend hours and hours on the internet talking to invisible people.......... ;) , but.....if the fates decree, and you click with one or two people, through pms, or im-ing, then there is the definite possibility of forming lasting and genuine friendships....and in those really lucky cases....something more. *smug grin*.

I will admit that once I got on the boards, I found it addictive...I would spend hours on here, first thing in the morning before work, straight on after work, and unless I had something specific to do, spend the whole evening on there, and even pop in during the night if I woke up to get a drink or go to the bathroom. I guess that's how I got to know people, I was always around, reading the threads, getting to know people, joining in with their silliness and their serious sides, getting to know their lives away from the site.

You can't just suddenly start pm-ing people asking them about their lives and loved ones, its something that has to happen gradually and naturally, or it won't happen at all. That said, if there is someone you're interested in, want to get to know better, then an initial pm could be the way, maybe leading to the opportunity to chat on im, maybe a phone call in real life.

Sorry, slipped into 'Auntie' mode there my lovelies.
Lecture over.

:)

Yeah I thought that "experience" might have been a bit too vague a term to use. I simply meant those people that are pretty well known throughout the AH. I'm content to throw in my two cents every now and again and talk to some of the good friends I've made already. :)

I was actually counting up the other day, just how many Lit-lovelies I have met in real life, and I was astounded until I realised I'd been to 2 meet ups in the UK, two in the States, and my own holiday there last year during which I met and spent time with a few more - not least of which was The Missus. Last count, 33 AH-ers. Isn't that amazing???

But my list of 'to-meet' has to be more of the British AH-ers.....Vana, Fem, Pop54, we really do need a new meet up this side of the Atlantic. Time to work on it.

Awww...how sweet... :rose:

As for who i'd like to get to know more...well i am planning (if all goes well) to meet one AHer in the near future :D and there would just be to many others to name...Sal...S-Des(hugs, he promised)...Fem...Sev...Trom...Bare...good golly the list could be endless...

There are so many newer members that I haven't really interacted with because I've not been here as much lately. I feel like I'm becoming that uber-busy cousin who breezes through with a wave and air kisses.

But, there are also quite a few veterans that I don't know as well as I'd like. Being an introvert, I very rarely initiate contact with folks via PM or IM for social purposes.

And, meeting AHers is just awesome. I highly recommend it. I did a tally after reading Mat's post ... and I've had the good fortune to hug 15! I hope to double that number in the coming year.

Would I be taking the easy way out if I said "all of them"?

There are some cool people with extraordinary character and mind that I wouldn't mind having over for a slow food evening and quality conversation. Cant, shereads, jammies and shanglan comes to mind, but here are many more.

There are people I'd like to go silly with over a few pints on a porch. Like the residents of love shack and it's new english affiliate. But again, the list, if I thought about it, would be way too long to type.

There are so many AH people I'd like to meet, but Miss Jetty is tops.

Hope I don't offend by leaving someone off, but I'd love to meet Honey, Cloudy, Sophia Jane, Logo, Kiten, Abs, Alex de kok, TateLou, Svenskaflicka, Ogg, Rump, Lucky,Vana, Mat, Min, Shereads.

I keep visualizing a party one afternoon with my wife asking "Now how do you know these people?"

Edit to add : Impressive, Sam and her expecting SO. Also Ari. You always need a teenager at these things to babysit people's kids. :)

And with Nirvanadragones, we really need to have Logo there. A mid-wife might come in real handy!

Aurora can win the prize for having come the furthest.

Aurora and Diva, of course. I'm sure I'd enjoy meeting everyone, but those two are the only ones who springs to mind as: okay, this we HAVE to do. Both of them are just amazing, and I see things so much from the same side that they do that they feel like marvelous kindred spirits and sister-friends.

I'm lucky enough in that I get to talk to so many people via the phone and IM, so I get to know them a little better with every conversation.

Oh crap in a basket!

ok, this has me thinking way way too early in the morning, because why the list of people I want to meet and know better is in the 40's I think, how I want to hang out and interact with them is amazingly varied and diverse, a reflection of the people themselves Ithink.

Ok, more coffee pen and paper time then back with a more coherent answer.

<uncharacteristic schoo girl giggling mode> "I've been mentioned by name twice.. heehee" </school girl like giggling mode>

I think I tally in with 13, but many multiple visits.

Not counting the ones I've met and would happily spend the rest of my life figuring out how to move everyone closer, without fading any UK accents, I'd love to/hope to, meet McKenna, Vana, and Fem. CD, Yui, Flicka, and Liar would be wonderful but seem rather doubtful.

The time has to come, sometime, not too far away, when we finally get round to organising an international, annual Literotica Conference.....what an absolute blast that would be!!

A real conference, with workshops - not only on writing, but spirituality, cookery, book critique......all the things we discuss in the threads, but this time in real life....and awards, a huge posh dinner with us all in evening dress....

I'm getting quite light headed from the grin on my face just thinking about it.

Oh, and everyone's name badge would have their favourite AV on it....just to make sure there's no mistaking who you are.

:D :D :D

*sigh*. One day.

How did I forget Mck & Yui??? I have recurring fantasies about both!
