I have a good friend at work from Rio de Janiero. He tells me that vanity runs rampant and that women and men are so obsessed (overall) with their looks that there are more plastic surgeons per capita in this city than anywhere else in the world. This includes cities like Los Angeles as well.

True. But from personal experience I can tell you that this does not, in any way, detract from the glorious visual feast that awaits the visitor. For pure aesthetic value, Rioriorio.

Interesting, however, that the most popular plastic surgery operation is making women's asses bigger. Yes, bigger. Rounder. Curvier. Rather the opposite from what we, in the northern hemisphere, are used to.
