Where is Senna Jawa?

Seriously, so do I. Even if he says I'm bullshit for not totally agreeing with him. The man puts considerable thought into what he says. :rose:

yes, he does and he also is a kind man, a thoughtful man and he really cares.

I hope you are okay, Senna, whever you are. I miss you too

correct.

it's easy to miss a thinking man.

After I saw this thread, I sent an email to him this morning. It would be sad not to have Senna around here. He's been here for years, and he's made some comments that have irked me, but the majority of what he's said has been gems that I've stuffed in my pocket, taken out later, pondered and used. I don't think there's anyone else quite S. J. :rose:

Senna has taken quite lengthy absences from Lit in the past but I think he lurks. My guess is he'll be back soon.

:rose: <<< just incase he's under the weather.

When I first got here, I hated SJ for his attacks on my creations. I despised him so much that I went and read every one of his poems (not just on Lit.) that I could find in order to prove what a know-it-all ASSHOLE he was!

Guess what! I learned an awful lot and found that while he is over-opinionated and lacks tack (like any other ordinary asshole); he does know (if not all) most of it!

If Senna Jawa ever deigns to comment on your work, consider it a blessing. He does not suffer fools nor untalented hacks. If he posts about your work it is because he sees a spark of talent somewhere. He may be incapable of saying that outright and his words can be rough for a new writer to appreciate, but if he comments or PMs you it is a good thing, not a bad thing.

I too miss Senna’s contributions. However, given the quality of the poems by the newest generation of Lit. poets I can understand his absence. I have withdrawn for much the same reason. The Lit poets I respect and want to read I find on other sites. ;)

Oh! I'm so glad you dropped in. I think many of the "old poets" have drifted away for the same reason you mention, that and the sophomoric sniping. I have always valued your and Senna's opinions because they make me take a second look and see I can do better. It's called growth.

I commend those that stay to try and maintain a standard - but I'm treading on shaky ground now. Standard? What should that be?

Welcome back Rybbka, no matter how brief.

i've learnt an awful lot too and continue to do so thanks to some of SJ's exercises he set out. very interesting perspective from this man and well worth attending.

I would echo this, with similar sentiments. I always liked your wordplay pieces, and particularly miss your reviews, which were always honest, opinionated (which is a good thing), and clear. We seem to be getting back to that, at least momentarily, but it has taken some time.

I miss SJ as well.

Hope you are both well.
