The burning lust

In shadows deep, where whispers cling,
There burns a fire, a lustful sting.
With every glance, the flames ignite,
A fevered dance through endless night.

Eyes that smolder, fierce and bright,
Drawing close in forbidden light.
Desire's tempest, wild and free,
Consumes us both, you and me.

A touch, a spark, a molten kiss,
In the grip of passion's bliss.
No words are spoken, none are needed,
In this fire, our souls are heated.

But lust is fleeting, a transient fire,
A blaze that scorches, fierce desire.
When morning breaks, the flames will wane,
Leaving echoes of sweet pain.

Yet in the dark, where shadows cling,
We’ll remember this burning fling.
For though the fire may dim, then die,
Its embers linger, you and I.

I tripped over the rhythm in a couple of lines, so I'm daring to suggest tweaks - that you are, of course, free to ignore.
When morning breaks, the flames will wane,
Leaving sweet and echoing pain.

Yet in the dark, where shadows cling,
We’ll relive this burning fling.

Excellent. Publishable. I wouldn't suggest any changes.

( O )( O )

I liked it. It is unclear why the lust is forbidden but leaving it open lets it appeal to many.
