50 days: Kamala Harris has yet to do formal press conference since emerging as Democratic nominee

Harris finally ended interview drought as Democratic candidate last week

Vice President Kamala Harris has gone 50 days as the presumptive, and now, official Democratic nominee for president without holding an official press conference.

Under pressure to sit down for a substantive interview after weeks of stonewalling, Harris finally ended her interview drought last month when she was joined by running mate Tim Walz for a pre-taped piece with CNN's Dana Bash last Thursday in Georgia that was a far cry from a traditional press conference.

"She should absolutely hold regular press conferences. Americans have the right and need to know what her policy stances are," conservative influencer Tim Young told Fox News Digital.

"Anyone who wants to lead the free world should be able to handle questions from the press," Young continued. "If Kamala can't handle real questions from the press, she absolutely can't handle negotiations with foreign leaders."

Well, where is she?

Stop BITCHING

Her Husband is doing interviews and her website is finally up

Oh noe, she's not doing "traditional press conferences" (as if there has been anything remotely resembling "traditional press conferences" since Sean Spicer devolved them into "us vs them" shitfests).

The internet has largely replaced the need for "traditional press conferences", something the Boomers fail to acknowledge.

Technology advances.

Speaking of which, did you catch Boomer Trump's declaration that TIVO is one of the greatest inventions of his lifetime? Tivo hit the market back in 1999 and the company ceased operations in 2016, but Trump loves his TIVO!

"but but.....TRADITIONAL PRESS CONFERENCES!" is a weird flex, even for a Boomer.

No I didn't.

I understand that press conferences are something required only of Donald Trump. Because we know what kind of a shitfest you'd throw out if the situation were reversed and he was hiding from the press and the American people. This is why she is hiding from the Press:

Can't take them anywhere! VP Kamala Harris says U.S. has a 'strong alliance with NORTH Korea' - in another White House gaffe - 24 hours after President Biden tried to pick out dead congresswoman in crowd

  • Vice President Kamala Harris mixed up North and South Korea
  • She touted the alliance the U.S. has with 'the Republican North Korea' during her visit to the DMZ during a four-day swing through Asia
  • The embarrassing gaffe came on the heels of Joe Biden asking a crowd to identify a decease congresswoman the day prior
  • It also comes as North Korea launched yet another missile on Thursday amid concerns the communist country could conduct a nuclear test

Kamala Harris continued an embarrassing week for the White House by mistakenly touting the U.S. alliance with 'the Republic of North Korea' – just one day after President Joe Biden called out for a dead congresswoman at an event on ending hunger.

The vice president concluded her trip through Asia with a visit to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on Thursday where she made the gaffe confusing the communist North Korea with U.S. ally nation of South Korea.

'The United States shares a very important relationship, which is an alliance with the Republic of North Korea,' Harris said during a speech at the DMZ Thursday, intending to refer to the Republic of Korea, the official name of South Korea.

'It is an alliance that is strong and enduring,' she continued, not appearing to recognize her mistake.

Her handlers are wisely shielding her from taking tough questions. Can’t blame them. She’s terrible in unscripted situations.

So you're not voting for Harris?
Of course he's not going to vote for Harris!

He NEEDS those monthly retainers from the Politburo.

His Social Security handout only goes so far each month, even in that backwoods cabin in Idaho!

Keep saying that. You likely won't convince anyone, but it might make you feel a bit less anxious.

She been in the custody of debate handlers for 5 straight days in preparation for the trouncing she will get at the debate. They've been working hard on her tear reflex and chin quivering response to criticism.

You seem terrified.

Between them and the MSM, you can see the MSM is totally staying away from policy positions from both Harris and Trump. Harris keeps quiet and they refuse to cover policy at all.

To which I say, Huzzah!

Kamala Harris is NOT Donald J Trump.
That alone is reason alone to vote for her, and I suspect a lot of people feel that way.

Trump has announced he'll become a dictator on day one, and while I can certainly see that sort of appeal to the bottomfeeder demographic, it is antithetical to United States democracy.

We've gone this long without a dictator or a king, and we sure as hell don't need one now.

You need to understand that, even if Trump was planning a sudden autocratic seizure, the Democrats' prediction of this in the past and dystopian practices such as creating a "disinformation office" in the Department of Homeland Security create the impression that they're not exactly big champions of democracy, constitutionalism, and the rule of law. Tack on the nullification of fourteen million votes in favor of the biggest loser of the 2020 Democratic primaries (who dropped out before 2020 even happened, iirc, before Iowa for sure) and you tend to look like Chicken Littles and hypocrites.

Look, I used to take the "Trump wants to be dictator" talk a lot more seriously prior to 2016. That was the major reason that I was an OG Never Trumper Republican and bolted the GOP as soon as he became the presumptive nominee. Four years in which he didn't take over as a dictator and suspend the Constitution, despite several policies of his that I didn't approve, tended to give the "boy who cried wolf" effect to the Democratic claims or assertions in that vein.

In summary, this is part of the overall problem in our society....there is zero trust in the mainstream media among most Americans, because they have abused that trust, to such an extent that Stephen Colbert even got mocked for praising their supposed objectivity and impartiality by his own audience. It is part of the general pattern of mutual mistrust that Americans feel toward each other, toward their institutions, etc. It's a major sign of imminent societal disintegration.

2020 was an eternity ago, grandfather.

You know that verbiage they print on your retirement account summary each quarter? Something like "past results are no guarantee of future performance" and all that? Kamala Harris has transcended her poor showing in 2020 most decisively this year. The only one even talking about it is you. It's a non-starter as an issue.

Americans are looking for a way out of the dystopian hellscape vision of America promoted by churlish toddler Donald J Trump. The American voting demographic began its shift away from Boomers in 2020 and is only picking up speed in 2024: One out of every four Boomers is dead. If Millennials and Gen-Z will show up in numbers to protect a woman's right to basic health care, Trumpism as we know it is dead.

Well, she has no democratic mandate....at all. Unless you count her being elected as Biden's running mate, which is very slim pickings there. If she gets one in November, it will be her first. It would suffice, of course, but the fact remains that her selection as VP after that awful performance still makes me question Biden's handlers and their sanity.

Also, I'm no Boomer. I'm Gen X, the oft forgotten generation. The same one as Harris, iirc.

And just because people have short attention spans and forget not all that distant events doesn't mean that I do. The black marks on her prosecutorial record remain, for instance, such as keeping an innocent man on death row until she was ordered to release him and letting Steve Mnuchin go free (yes, I know that Trump then handpicked him to head the Treasury, but he couldn't if the man was sitting in prison where he deserved to be). Not to mention keeping so many convicts past their sentences and opposing drug legalization and putting people in prison for marijuana use not that long ago. By the way, I should point that Harris accepted campaign cash from Trump.

What you're not acknowledging is that those who came up with the "Trump is going to be a dictator" line (and all the rest) aren't actually Americans and they have no real voice except on the anonymous internet-ski.
