Where in the world...

This is my mountain cabin...

missed you my lady, so tell us more about your cabin...:rose: H

Ahh, doppelbock...so nice to see you again...:rose:

Mm..let's see...it's quite secluded you know, well off the beaten path. It blends in quite nicely with the surroundings, tucked snugly in the lee of the foothills, with dark craggy mountains soaring up, far above it. It's a sweet little cabin, with shake cedar shingles, a slightly crooked porch, with a wooden rocker to one side of the door, and an old porch swing swaying gently to the other side. Walking inside, the warmth of rust-colored plush carpet greets the eye, tumbled brick lining the walls of part of the living room, also forming a bench in which firewood is stored for the fireplace tucked in the corner of the room. Ranged in front of the fireplace and off to either side are a deep velour couch and matching chairs with two heirloom quilts tossed over the arm of each chair, end tables holding two lamps and a small assortment of bric-a-brac, and a few odds and ends. The walls around the room are lined with old gray barnwood, taken originally from an old fallen-down out-house, of all things, and later wood taken from long-abandoned, dilapidated barns around the area. A few shelves adorn the walls here and there, with a few antique treasures, a few mementos from happy times in the past.

This is my hide-away, my place to come to when worldly problems become too much to bear, where I can lick my wounds in private if need be. I don't mind sharing it if others need the peace and quiet, and soul-deep serenity can be found here...

Bora Bora. Macchu Picu. China. Japan. Finland. Florence. Russia. South Africa. Ethopia. Egypt.

And the list is quite extensive. I would love to go back to Budapest and Vienna, though...

Wow...I like your list, Macchu Picu especially...so mystical

So many places, but for starters: Alaska, Tuscany, Greece, Italy, Spain, Peru, New Zealand... and to do it with someone who shares the same love for beauty and culture.

San Juan Capistrano. I hear it has what can be described as the closest thing to perfect weather in the United States.

I'm a noobie here, first time doing this....so be kind please ;)
I haven't seen this one and I'm wondering:
If you could go anywhere in the world that you've never been before...where would that be?

Methinks the SW has some of the most interesting attractions I can think of. Would love to move there. :rose:

I want to go to Italy so bad....just take a month off and live in Italy!

Hiya shykitty!

I'd love to go to England - family is from there. Also, I think the Holy Land, and the Valley of the Kings would be great to see.

Hi charleygirl...I have to thank my very good friend dopplebock for dragging this thread out of the dust! lol... I've always been fascinated by the British isles, would love to someday visit there...another great friend of mine is visiting there now, and then he's going to Venice...! Another romantic place...! I also want to visit Norway, and Germany, where my ancestors came from...wow, so many places...!

If I could go anywhere in the world that I haven't been ...

... it would be Croatia. Mountains, fantastic waterfalls, beautiful coast, and historic charming cities and villages. Something completely unique and different from my normal travels.
