Many personals look and feel so... shallow when read, as if the author is looking for instant relief.
There's nothing wrong with a post asking for a chat, or a phone call or whatever, in that same very day, of course. But, do anonymous online interactions have to be that way?
While I understand that need for quick gratification, having felt it myself on numerous occasions, I think a deeper sensation of fulfillment is achievable. A connection strengthened over time, with a person that makes you feel better just with words in an email, even if those are not related to you directly, doesn't seem too far fetched. Wouldn't it be more satisfying to know you share something special with them? That you have a little history with them?
I'm a male student, looking for a woman who seeks what I seek. Someone with whom I can share my daydreams, fantasies and interests. Someone who I can confide in, and who confides in me, knowing that no harm can come to you - as it would with family, for example. Call it a romance, if you must. I see it as an opportunity for great friendships, and an escape for my introverted self.
What do you think of a few emails a week, and the (very) occasional chat?
