Not other erotica sites necessarily. But I am finding increasingly that my stuff is more lit and less erotica/porn. Do any of you write/post other places in other genres?

Some Yahoo Adult Groups, which is where I started before finding Literotica, but even my non-erotic stories get more attention here than anywhere else I've tried.

I haven't posted anything there myself, but YouWriteOn.com - a British, non-erotic story site - is good, and membership is free.

Their system is to have people 'bank credits' by posting reviews of other writers' work. Once you have a given number of credits (I believe it was 5 last time I looked), you're allowed to submit your own work for peer feedback. So the more feedback you give, the more you get for your own work.

They also have schemes - essentially competitions, I think - that allow selected writers to be reviewed in depth by published authors. There have also been assisted publishing schemes (in the past, at least) - so some people get lucky and actually see their work in print.

From what I've seen, feedback is generally fair and balanced. I suppose a possible negative is the fact that reviewers have a self-interested reason for giving feedback - and some of the reviews may be a shade perfunctory as a result. But, on the whole, my impression of the site was very positive.

The trick is getting useful feedback unless youre content with a Special Olympics Trophy, a nice review by your Ma, or your team presses it thumbs on the scale in your favor. Lotsa LIT writers take it ugly and pretty.

'Published author' means nuthin; I have in my hand a Tom Clancy novel that reads like middle school crap. I suspect he did it intentionally.

I've posted hunting and shooting stories relating to my experiences on safari in Africa.

I post under this name for sex stories and another one for non-sexual stories. Lit. provides a good forum for both.
Occassionally I've been known to leave blurbs on bathroom walls:D

What a suck ass! Like you'd tell her they bite.

Fuck off Jimmy. If you haven't read them, don't comment about them. I've had the pleasure of reading them and she writes very well.
Good to see you again, I've missed you. Hope you've been well.

LANCE? Of course I havent read them, but THAT doesnt invalidate my point. You WOULDNT tell her they bite if they did.

Does she know youre a midget?

I publish through Club Lighthouse and also A1AdultEBooks. I'm currently working on a magazine publishing an article I wrote.

Fictionaut.com -- you have to register, post what you like, good community.

SuspenseMagazine.com -- submit to online, print or contest.

Zoetrope.com -- works like youwriteon.com is described above to workshop, try out stories. Responses are generally useful.

But you won't find me under DearEmma ;)

Always talking from your ass Jimmy. You know you mumble when you do that, makes me think you have a lisp or something. I do tell her if something didn't work right or could be changed to read better another way. How little you know about things, as usual.

I guess I'm a midget standing on the shoulders of giants like yourself. You're a man amongst men. A true symbol of male embodiment. Quite a scholarly fellow and a real gentleman.

If that were only true Jimmy. If that were only true. Such a shame.

I've find myself writing less sex and more depth. Not that there is no depth in a thought out sexual scene, but I find myself perusing over the non-erotic parts much harder. Plus, my so-called friends are starting to act real prudish towards my stories nowadays.

Say it ain't so!

I'll be your friend.

I like your stories ... and yeah, for more than the sex, I have to admit. You write really great action and I love your dialogue.

Don't you think the sex is better if it's part of the story instead of the story just giving the sex a rickety frame to stand on? *shrug* JMO and tastes.

Academic writing only these days. My first academic journal publication is in the works and I'm all a-twitter.

I have written op/ed columns for local newspapers. Kind of new around here, but as a writer, I am always looking for the opportunity to write or try something new.

Thank you, friend.

I usually choose a good story with sex, than good sex in a story. As long as my tales doesn't turn into a letter to Penthouse.

A non-erotic short story here on Lit turned into a three book deal with a major publishing house. Not bad for an old fart on a porn site. :D

If no one asked before, what other things do you write and where would you like to publish? :)

Literotica is a great place to begin your writing and to develop your craft. It has served me well. I have written numerous stories, and recently, one of them got me noticed by a major e-book publisher who I am now working with to extend/enhance a 4-part story I wrote for Literotica into a novel for e-book sale. I couldn't be happier.

Did Tom Clancy write the novel?
