Where do you write?

Wait... I could've sworn I read Holly Hobby somewhere in there. Perhaps I'm the weirdo. :(

I edited to add the starfire part and somehow deleted the Holly line. No worries. I'll own it. Holly was a sexy bitch.

Star fire and her sister...bondage, torture....sisters...the young LC was ovewhelmed!

LOL Overwhelmed, influenced, and warped. All good things, I think.

That costume looks rather inappropriate for a member of the "Teen Titans"

Speaking of inappropriate, it brings back the memory of my 7th grade art teacher showing me how to draw female superheroes' bodies. (big tits, teeny waist, powerful thighs)

I usually either write on my couch in front of the TV (usually streaming a concert from youtube) or on the recliner by my snake racks. Once in a rare while, if I'm on a tear and exhausted, I drag the laptop to the bedroom and wind up having to delete a bunch of gibberish off of the page because my cat slept on the keyboard when I inevitably fell asleep with the laptop open.

And I want LC's Creature from the Black Lagoon figure. Just saying.

Silly kitty. Only humans can write stories. Nice try, though.

Also... What's a snake rack?

It's a shelving system for housing multiple pet snakes with similar heating requirements. The heating element maintains the proper temperature for the entire rack instead of having one for each individual terrarium. (Probably more than you wanted to know. Sorry.) And, yeah, I'm one of those creepy snake keeping people. haha

On my stomach, flat on the floor, typing on lap top. Also sleep on my stomach with pillows over my head. (?) I'm sure that means something.

Nope--I asked, and you answered. Now, if someone asks, "What's a snake rack?" I'll be able to school them on it, and they'll think I'm pretty badass ;)

Are the snakes happy in those small spaces?

A girlfriend of mine in college had a pet snake. I have no idea what kind it was. She'd let me feed it, and I'd always name the mouse before dropping it in. Which, thinking back, was kind of fucked up.

The size of the space depends on the species, but typically they feel more secure in smaller enclosures as long as they get plenty of exercise when they are let out. I feed frozen rodents to all of mine, cheaper and healthier that way. Especially when you go through as many as I do. >.>

I usually write in my recliner couch at home, feet up, ThinkPad on a drawing board in my lap. I'm now on the road for a couple months and have only intermittent Net access, and little excuse to pull out the ThinkPad. I've plotted and sketched notes for about a dozen stories on my Android tablet but that's no good for writing. Further writing will await my return home.

I’m old. I started writing before the era of word processors. My first compositions/articles/stories were written in longhand – on yellow legal pads – and then copy-typed by young ladies called Janice and Tina and Beverley. And when we moved on to our own typewriters they needed something solid to stand on. Even the early ‘portables’ needed a desk of sorts. (They really weren't that portable.)

The first ‘electronic’ machine I had was heavier that an old-fashioned ‘standard’ typewriter – so that also needed a desk.

My first ‘laptop’ (it was actually bigger than my lap – and much, much hotter) promised much. But, after a good deal of experimenting, I decided that it too needed a desk.

Over the past 25 years, I have tried a variety of tablets and laptops. For a long time, I liked the idea of being able to take my work outside, onto the terrace, into the garden. But it never quite worked out. I kept getting driven back inside – to my desk.

Even though I still have an iPad and a tablet, these days I write on a full-sized keyboard, sitting in front of a TV-sized monitor, and powered by a rather grunty Toshiba laptop. Oh yes, and this all takes place in what I assume was once intended to be a bedroom.

OK?

I have an office with as one could expect wall to wall Godzilla banners and old B monster movie posters and some original Bernie Wrightson art and posters of comic book covers. That awesome ambiance is made even better by the continuous flow of obnoxious metal music...and my dogs unnaturally loud snoring..

This sounds suspiciously like where I write, right down the to the snoring.

MY first thought was that I eventually learned my birth father did father other kids with other women unfortunate enough to make his acquaintance. So...you never know.

My second thought was that I forgot how much younger you are than me, so scratch that:rolleyes:

The frozen food is much safer as well. I had a friend whose snake was bitten by the small rat it was supposed to eat and it got an infection and died.

I suppose I'm twisted for thinking good for that rat that it got revenge.

Snakes are beautiful, I had a red tail boa years ago and what they eat, well they can't help. Its nature.

What has disturbed me however, is the sick freaks who get way to much of a thrill out of watching the snake kill its food. I have always suspected that type of person got beat up a lot in school and has to pay for sex.

I write on a full size keyboard in my study which is supposed to be the fourth bedroom in our house.

It's the only room, except the downstairs cloakroom, that doesn't have a sea view. I can see the sea if I stand right by the window or in the study doorway but not while sitting at my desk. The sea, and the people by or in it, would be a constant distraction.

I have a full size desktop with the tower standing on the desk so I don't have to stretch to insert a CD or DVD in the drive. The mono lazer printer than I use for printing drafts for edit is beside the screen.

The walls have 'original' artwork by Matisse, Picasso and Duchamp. At least the eBay sellers said they were originals by those artists. I'm doubtful about my Picasso's Girl with a Dove. It's the wrong size and is on modern plywood. I suppose Picasso could have painted it towards the end of his life, but I don't think so. It looks right and it is real brushstroke paint but...

I have racks of DVDs mainly Opera and Ballet, and hundreds of CDs most of which have been ripped to my hard drive.

But the main attraction is lack of external attention when sitting at my desk. Even the grandchildren leave me alone when I'm here (which I'm usually not when they are visiting).

While I'm writing my wife is on her laptop in the kitchen researching family history - hers and some of her friends. Apart from tea/coffee breaks we can amuse ourselves for hours. When we are back together again we appreciate that we have had a time to ourselves - useful after 44 years of marriage!

Agreed. That was the main reason that I converted all of them over to frozen food.

My oldest snake is a red tail boa, I've had her for more than 20 years.

I'm writing at the desk in my bedroom on a laptop with a second screen next to it. Sometimes I take my laptop and sit on my bed as well, especially when it's getting late. Pretty comfortable with a pillow in my back against the wall.

My room isn't as interesting as some of the others before me, but since I'm easily distracted that's probably a good thing. No big posters and such for me, or else I wouldn't get anything written at all.

I also like to do that, except when I do, I run the risk of the cat trying to help me type.

My cat was curious about the keyboard when she was young. Now she prefers sunbathing under the desk lamp.
