Just curious as to whether the authors here only submit stories to LIT, or if they go elsewhere. So decided to make a poll, but please do feel free to tell us in a reply what you do and where you submit it at. If you submit stories anywhere else let us know. It's always helpful to know more places to read at.

Also, the sites listed above are the only ones I usually go to. Since well most of them are free and allow you to post what you like, when you like.

My celeb stories are found on Lit and also on the LiveJournal community Himfanfics. My Harry Potter fanfiction is only found on restrictedsection.org

Everything else is found only here on Lit, or in my personal LJ as unfinished stories. I haven't found any other site that I appreciate as much as Lit, or that is as well-run. Laurel and Manu's policy on stolen work, for example, is one of the reasons I stay here. I also like their guidelines for most genres, although I find their Erotic Horror guidelines a little too strict and too open to interpretation by the submission reviewers. :D But that's just me.

If I found another site that I admired for it's management as much as I do Lit, I might consider, briefly, putting something on it- but for the most part, Lit is home.

My first erotic story postings went to ASS Moderated. Now I really only post here.

i'm a whore. i submit my stories every where, but main upkeep is here at Lit, my website and live journal.

My stories are found in many Yahoo adult groups, originally clubs. That's where I first started writing 'erotica' for specific fetishes because I was disappointed with the number and quality of stories already in their files.

Once I started tailoring stories for fetishes the process spiralled out of control when group/club members asked for more or different stories. I had the most helpful and intelligent feedback from the now defunct 'Unbirth' group, which explains the number of unbirth themed stories in my work.

My stories also appear in some MSN and Wanadoo groups.

Oggbashan stories have been pirated to hundreds of sites... For some of the sites I have to ask - Why? None of my work would seem suitable for customers who pay for 'Anal-fisting Japanese teens'.

I started here at Lit and love the easy controls, the forum, the pcs, and the people. Laurel and Manu have made a wonderful site and I haven't found anything that compares with this one. I do post at a couple other sites, Storiesonline and LustyLibrary, though they don't have the family atmosphere of this site, nor the reliability. Nope, I like it here.

I really like it here too. Very expert admins, ease of access, great people, thousands of diverse stories, everything's really nice. :) That said, I do stay true to my roots. I post my stories here, and also at ASSTR, CSSA, and AFF.Net. I also have my own adult Yahoo newsgroup, DangerousThoughts. Any fan of my work who finds the latter is welcome to join. :)

Bingo. That's not why I ... um ... came to Lit, but it's why I stayed. If it weren't for the AH, I probably wouldn't submit material here any more. I rather like being paid for my work. ;)

Still, it's a good place for short, short stories (as most ePubs want at least 5K words to contract as an eBook) and for poetry.

And, for longer work, it's a good place for early feedback before submission to a publisher -- if that's your thing.

Or, if you're a DK or an SK or an AB ... it's a steady source of contest prize income. ;)

Here is what I wrote not long after I started getting active on the boards here to a "fan" looking for lesbian stories with a BDSM angle. BTW, Nifty is gay and lesbian only. Still, I'm a bit surprised to see it not among the poll choices - it is a large and venerable site:

I post on two sites: Nifty and Literotica.com. Just in case you don't know about the latter let me tell you. Nifty is, well, nifty, because it divides lesbian into all those subcategories. It is not so nifty because there is no way to separate the wheat from the chaff, to your distress, as you note - there are a lot of very poor or poorly written stories, strewn amongst which are a few pearls.

Literotica is a massive site and has a readers choice scoring system in which readers rate stories 1-5, and each story displays its score. There are many flaws in the system but in a coarse way it does accomplish the important separation task. The downside with Lit is, you can choose Lesbian Sex (4,260 stories) or BDSM (8,389 stories), but not lesbian bdsm. (There is also a 'Mind Control' category that I have only peaked at.) So there are probably a lot of LBDSM stories, but they are still not perfectly easy to find. The thing to do is go to the "Toplists" which contain the top 500 or so stories in each category (so you know readers like them) and scan down for titles that sound lez-like in the one cat and bdsm in the other. Crude, and I don't know if effective - maybe if you try you can let me know?

Lit also has an extremely lively discussion board section. I think if you opened a thread in "authors hangout," "general discussion," and 'glbt chatter" explaining what you seek, you would find.
