Where do I go from here? (5 part story so far)

Hey all,

I'm about 50,000+ words and five chapters into my series and facing some burnout - you know how it goes, things start to spiral out of control. I'm feeling like Stephen King here, how the heck do I end this behemoth? Ideally I'm aiming for >10 chapters to reach a satisfying conclusion.

The very next developments that suggest themselves:
  • MC Abi performing some profane rite with multiple boys in order to gain control over her power.
  • Some sort of revenge on her former best friend Rachel, obviously a degrading spectacle.
  • And revenge on her cruel professor Doxiadis as well.
  • But then ...
I'm trying to balance gonzo filth with character and story, and maybe feeling a little uncertain of how I'm managing so far. How do you literotica superstars put some pep into your step when you've stalled out on a story?

Not a superstar, just here, saying something when I feel like I have something useful to say.

Easier answer: if it's really burning you out, it's okay to walk away and work on something else. Continuing to write something is more useful long-term, for a lot of different reasons, than smashing your head against the burnout wall. Maybe you'll circle back to it later when you have more experience and less burnout. Maybe not.

Harder answer: if you're dead-set on finishing the damned thing and you're the stubborn type that can push through it, follow your outline, pick the best ending you can come up with, and be done with it. Probably won't be as good as you want it to be. But this stuff is hard. And you gain more in trying and failing than by giving up. I promise you'll learn a lot from the trying, and gain the capacity to do better next time.

I don't think I'm up to getting through 50k words to give more specific feedback, but those are my thoughts on the question in a general sense.

Do you really feel like Stephen King? The guy writes a lot, has written tons since a very early age, does maintain a steady output -- and earns (tens of) millions from his writing. I don't believe you know how Stephen King feels like. I don't know how he feels like.
I also don't believe Stephen King has burnout issues.

Come on... the King thing was clearly a joke, you made yourself look silly because the man wrote a very famous book on writing, 'On Writing', a portion of which is him explaining how exactly he does avoid burning out, and this level of defensive hero worship is embarrassing, even if you were technically correct.

@Joan_R_Hastings, on behalf of the writers around here who have not temporarily misplaced our sense of humor, I apologize for the outburst.
