Hi I'm fairly new to all this writing stuff, but would really love to be able to write a more in depth story. Would love some advice.

About three years ago, I spent a day writing a short story for my husband. I had never written anything before and just wanted to give him something to get his juices flowing!! This story was:
Reds Treat

He loved it so much he persuaded me to post it.

I've looked at some of the stuff you guys write on here and it's not in your league, but for some reason it was accepted.

I went on to write another back then, but only posted this one recently, again it was accepted to my suprise.
Reds 3-some Fantasy

My real question is, is there any place for short stories like mine (please don't say the bin) and how do I progress from writing stuff like this to the literary masterpieces on here?

Hi Red,

I think you fit in pretty well so I wouldn't worry that anyone should suggest you put your stories in the bin.

I had a quick skim through your first story but am up to my eyes in domestics today so couldn't give it my full attention. It seemed like a nice intimate story for you and your husband which I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy reading.

I'm not sure what you mean by "literary masterpieces" on here. There are some truly excellent authors on Literotica that, in my opinion, should be published, and maybe the difference is the use of plot and characterisation. A real story which blends in the sex, rather than an account of a sexy night in, which, don't get me wrong, was still enjoyable.

It depends how far you want to take your writing, but you can be sure that here, you'll get all the support you need.

Good luck,
janiexx

If your stories were accepted, I'd say that proves that you fit in.......Carney (who might be indulging in self-motivated wishful thinking!)

Just took a peek at your stories. You fit in just fine. Welcome to lit. :rose:

You're worred about this group? Pretty much anything goes. What I can tell you is some story catagrories get a lot more attention than others. Sci-Fi, Humor and Non-Erotic (I've written in all of them) are really pretty slow. With few acceptions you'll get good response from the other catgories...

Welcome to Lit, Girl... have a ball :p

This is a really hard question to answer for a million reasons. I think the first thing is on you. What kind of stories do you aspire to? In other words, what are these stories that you think are literary masterpieces?

When you decide on a few of those, then try to decide if you really want to write like that. I admire a lot of writing that I don't want to imitate. For instance, some people have a tremendous flare for language. You read a paragraph and the words just seem to dance. Perhaps there are stunning, never before seen images that blow your mind. I admire that ability very much, but I'm not really reaching for that myself. Instead, I prefer to go with a stripped-down style that lets the characters talk right to the readers and go for the gut.

In general, you just have to decide what you want to do. And then start working towards it. When you are lost, come to the boards and search / ask. Perhaps you'd love to write a sexy mystery. Come with your ideas and maybe someone can help. It is really hard to tell you how to simply advance your writing. But if you come with a specific problem, we can probably help out.

Good base

I skimmed through the two stories. You have a good foundation, but you need some editing (punctuation, grammar). The stories are fun and sweet, and you describe well. That's always handy in writing erotica. As for belonging here, I say you do. You craft good descriptions of fun bondage play. Just keep polishing your work and it'll be even better.
