Where books will take you (closed for RobbieRand)

Robbie was simply amazed.

He'd never imagined that magic -- real magic -- existed in this world until just a couple of hours ago; and to see the spectacular things these two women were doing was simply overwhelming.

He waited until they'd finished playing with their bubbles, then walked up to them with a wide smile. "That was ... well ... incredible!" He looked to Carla, saying, "First, I want to apologize for disrespecting your book. Isn't that the word you used?"

Carla smiled, saying, "Apology accepted."

"Why didn't you tell me you could do such things?"

Carla laughed embarrassingly, answering, "I didn't know I could."

They shared a smile before Robbie turned to Eletha. He feigned a frightened grimace, then told her, "And I want to apologize to you--" He hesitated, not remembering how to pronounce the Elf's name, then continued without using it, "--for, um..." He glance to her cleavage again, then looked up with a wide smile as he finished, "...for staring at your breasts."

His stomach suddenly turned over, leading him to say, "I'm starving. Should be get back?"

Robbie had no idea, of course, that the three of them needed to stay here until they could figure out a way to get Eletha back to her own dimension ... or at least give Carla some more time to find her magic.

Eletha raised an eyebrow at Robby's apology, particularly since it had followed him looking at her cleavage. She decided, however, not to press the issue.

Carla, for her part, was more than intrigued by what Eletha seemed to be offering. Could Eletha really turn Carla into the character that Carla had been LARPing? The magic part was already happening, but was Eletha actually offering to turn Carla into a half-elf? Carla was sure she must be misunderstanding Eletha.

Before Carla could get an answer, though, Robby's stomach claimed center stage.

"We discuss later," Eletha promised Carla. "Two things first." Carla walked over to one of the trees and picked a handful of leaves off of it. She whispered "Kwerna kayla ewalma" and tossed the leaves into the air. Immediately the leaves swirled around her, multiplying, then settled on her body, transforming into a modest, forest green dress.

Eletha then reached into her pouch, pulling out a folded scarlet cloth. She knelt down and unfolded the cloth on the ground. As the cloth unfolded, different foods and cutlery appeared. There was an elven bread stuffed with fruit, bunches of grapes as well as cheeses and other foods, and cups full of wine,

"Sit. Eat," Eletha said, making an inviting gesture before sitting on the ground and helping herself to some of the grapes.

Robbie was a bit disappointed when Eletha produced a dress over her existing, thin, and revealing bed wear. He'd been enjoying the brief glimpses of the magic user's big nipples when she moved in ways that caused her night gown to open, exposing this tit or that one.

But the dinner she laid out for them took his mind off that disappointment. Again, amazement, quickly followed by his plopping down on the ground to dig in. There were familiar foods, though often cut or shaped or arranged in odd fashions; and foods he'd never seen before and was unsure about eating. Likely the most amazing feature, though, were the glass flutes that were standing tall, filled to the rim with drink without having spilled a drop as the blanket was rolled out. How the hell did she do that? he wondered, reminding himself, Duh! Magic.

As he and the pair dug in, Robbie couldn't help but wonder what other magical things Eletha could do. She'd done some good things and bad things both, the one on his mind being binding him up with ribbons. Was she a good witch or bad? Was she a witch at all? And what was with the ears?

He'd been careful with his questions since arriving here, but after getting comfortable over the wonderful and sometimes strange food, he couldn't resist anymore. "Eletha, you haven't told us anything about you yet? Where do you come from...? How'd you get here...? And -- don't be offended -- what's with the ears?"

"Robbie!" Carla chastised, then giggled. She reached up to her own ears and pulled each of the fake ones off, stuffing them in her costume's pocket. Looking to Eletha, she joined in, "Yes, Eletha. Tell us more about where you come from, please."

Eletha paused, reaching up and touching her ears, then shrugged, "My ears sharp, your ears round. But I understand there are no such people as I in this world? Or none that you know?"

Carla and Robbie looked between one another as if wondering who should explain. The latter jumped in, "No, I guarantee you ... there's no one like you here on--"

He stopped for a moment, wondering. He'd been about to say here on Earth. But, maybe Eletha came from Earth, too. This Earth long, long ago, when there were beings other than Humans. Or, how did we know that Humans didn't once upon a time have pointy ears. Then he remembered the whole magical powers thing. Eletha didn't come from and ancient Earth because she had magic, and there was no magic on--

Robbie looked to Carla, thinking, But there IS magic on Earth. Fucking confusing as hell.

"Okay, so, I'm not sure where to start," Robbie said, "so ... let's start with who and what we are." He gestured between himself and Carla. "We call ourselves Humans. We are the only intelligent species on the--"

"Dolphins," Carla interrupted. When Robbie gave her a curious look she continued, "Porpoises ... chimps ... ravens are pretty sharp--"

"We're the only advanced ... intelligent ... species on the planet," he clarified with a hard tone before turning back to Eletha and continuing, "And we call out planet Earth."

"Have humans on my world too. And elves like me," Eletha added, reaching up to lightly touch the tip of her own ears. "Dwarves and cagwaith. And dolphins," Eletha said with a smile. "Different type of elves, different types of humans. I live in the mountains. I have..." Eletha paused, trying to find the right English word and getting only a poor choice "...cousins who live elsewhere. Once I visited cousins who live by the sea. And swam with dolphins, They know best games," she concluded, a warm smile gracing her face.

It was a joy for both of them to discuss the two different worlds with Eletha. Robbie focused mostly on tangible things, like the land itself and the people -- the creatures -- living in it; while Carla was more interested in the intangible things like magic or the way people lived.

"Now I need to pee," Carla said suddenly, standing up and hurrying off toward the woods as she called back over her shoulder, "Don't you talk about anything I won't want to miss, hear?"

Robbie watched her disappear, wishing he could see through the knee length cape to his lover's tight little ass. It had been a while since they'd gotten hot and bothered in one another's arms, and turning back to look at the bosomy Elf again only made Robbie's cock twitch with eagerness. He smiled politely to her for a moment, realizing that until now, the two of them hadn't been alone together. He looked down to the food for a moment, then cleared his throat as he formulated his next thought.

"Listen, Eletha, I, um..." Robbie looked back up, unable not to glance for just an instant at the boobs that even now below three layers of cloth were still eye-catching. "I want to apologize if anything I did earlier offended you. You know, my, um ... ogling of your..."

He lifted a hand and with only a bit of correct aim gestured in the general direction of Eletha's upper body. "I, um ... I want to explain. You see ... here ... on Earth ... now, in this time, you would be ... well..." He didn't know how to explain it. He laughed in embarrassment, then gathering all his courage said bluntly, "Men like me in this day and age, we've ... well, we've sort of been driven to-- toward believing that a, um ... healthy bosom on a beautiful woman, such as yourself ... well, that it's ... what's the word ... a prelude ... a precursor ... fore runner, I guess, to, um ... well ... sex."

Robbie knew that that wasn't true, of course. Big tits didn't at all mean an increase in the possibility of thigh spreading. Hell, he knew quite a few promiscuous women whose breasts had room to spare inside their B-cups; and quite a few top heavy types who wouldn't give it up for anything.

By now, Robbie's gaze had dropped to the blanket full of half eaten plates and nearly empty flasks. He was a bit tipsy, though he hadn't noticed it of himself yet. He looked back up to Eletha and said without shame, "I have always been drawn to large breasted women ... always been ... stimulated by the sight of them--" As he'd spoken the last word, his gaze had dropped to Eletha's breasts. As his eyes rose again, he finished, "And I just wanted to explain that it's not you, that it's not your fault, that you've done nothing wrong. It's ... it's just me and my upbringing ... my culture ... and ... well, my fantasies ... that drive me to want to be with someone like you."

As he finished, Robbie suddenly realized that he was intoxicated. Not enough to not care enough about what he'd said but enough to have been stupid enough to say it. He remembered the ribbons that had nearly strangled him to death and wondered whether he should have said his goodbyes to Carla before she ran off to the forest and left him with this potentially homicidal magic user from the Beyond.

Eletha was gritting her teeth, managing not to roll her eyes at the way Robby was using his intoxication induced apology to share his more lascivious thoughts with her. Human males especially were very adept at rationalizing their boorish behavior, somehow shifting the blame to the object of their desires. Eletha suspected that it was only her demonstration of her formidable arcane skills that prevented Robby from trying to act on his expressed desires and that, if he were just a bit more intoxicated, even that might not have stopped him.

"Apology accepted," Eletha answered simply. She reached into her pouch and pulled out a fistful of sand. She whispered "Heropu, heropu" into her closed fist and blew into it. A cloud of sparkling sand appeared, and settled on the blanket. Everything the sand touched disappeared, until there was only the clean cloth. Wordlessly, Eletha folded the blanket and returned it to her pouch.

Eletha stood up, brushed herself off, then turned to Robby. "How you feel about Carla gaining magic?" she asked, her eyes staring unblinkingly into his.

Robbie tried to snatch at the flask holding the last of a wine like liquid but it simply disappeared from his grasp. After he got over his disappointment, Eletha's question sunk into his brain.

"I think it's incredible!" he said with enthusiasm. "She mentioned her magical history occasionally over the years -- you know, I've known her since high school -- but, I never knew whether she was being serious or not. I didn't not believe her because I didn't believe her. It was because she didn't make a big deal of it. So ... I didn't know if she was being serious or not. Now..."

Robbie smiled broadly. He was happy for Carla. Very happy. He still didn't quite understand everything that was happening, but that didn't stop him from being tickled for her.

He looked off toward the woods into which Carla had disappeared, finding her standing at the forest's edge tinkering with something. Robbie wondered whether it was simple curiosity or magical fun. He looked back to Eletha for a long moment, then -- curious about the woman herself -- asked tentatively, "So ... Eletha. Are you ... what, married? I assume you have marriage where you come from, yes...? Husband? Lover? Boyfriend?" His smirk widened as he asked, "Girlfriend?"

For some reason, the thought of Eletha having a girlfriend was humorous to Robby, though she couldn't understand why. It wasn't common among her people, but it wasn't unknown either.

Deciding that perhaps this was a difference between their two worlds that she would come to understand in time, she decided to answer the main gist of his question.

"I maiden," she said simply. "When it is time for my heart to open, it will open. My people's way." Eletha paused before asking in return, "You and Carly? Friends? More?"

"I maiden."

That opened Robbie's eyes wide. His understanding of the word maiden was virgin. But, that couldn't be. Eletha was a beautiful, sexy, erotic, shapely woman in her ... in her whats? Twenties? Thirties? How was Robbie to know. She was a mature woman, a woman of breeding age. But ... maybe the progression of age and looks was different in this dimension of her hers. Hell, for all Robbie knew Eletha was just a child! A gorgeous, top heavy, desirable child, but still a child...? As she continued talking about her world and her heart, he wondered how he could go about asking this without ending up in the ribbon's squeeze again.

"You and Carly? Friends? More?"

Wow, okay, put me on the spot, why don't you? How was Robbie supposed to answer that. A gentleman wasn't supposed to announce such news in this world to his kind. What was the protocol for sharing such information with an Elf from ... God knows where? The answer to that question was also hampered by the fact that Robbie wanted to fuck Eletha, even more so now that he knew she was a virgin!

"Carly...? Me...?" he said coyly. He decided to lie, if not to improve his chances with Eletha than simply to save Carla's honor with her new found magical friend. "No. Not anything more. Just friends."

He looked back at his lover still playing with things at the forest's edge, then looked back to Eletha and, with a hesitant tone asked, "So ... this place you come from. There are people like you ... and people like me. And the women like you. Do they, um ... you know ... do they do things with men like me. You know ... like you said, more."

Eletha was taken aback by Robby's question. Not because she considered it an overly personal question, but because it was a complicated sociological question that could not be given a simple answer to, at least not in the limited English that she possessed. Nonetheless, she decided to give it a try.

"Elves and men have different cousins," she began. "Men have cousins who live mountains, rivers, cities. Elves have cousins who live forests, seas, mountains. Each have their own way. So one group traditions meet next group, new traditions made. But sometimes traditions not change, but stand. Like me. Traditions of mountain elves, heart opens to heart. But heart has to open first. If heart does not open, it does not open, and there is nothing. Understand?" she asked hopefully. It would have been so much easier to explain in her native language. But then again, she mused, in her native tongue, she would have written a book on the subject to give what she thought was a satisfactory answer.

Robbie just stared wide eyed, dumbfounded. He was sure that Eletha's explanation made total sense to her, but to him ... not so much so. By heart has to open first ... If heart does not open, it does not open, and there is nothing ... was she saying she had to be in love to make love...? It sounded like that to Robbie, but in his inebriated state -- the Elven wine had hit him like a brick -- he simply had to know.

"So ... are you saying that the only way you and I could ever have sex was if--"

"Robbie!"

He hadn't heard Carla's return until she yelled his name from a few yards away. Robbie turned to look at her, a bit unsteady in his turn. He waved to his on again off again lover, asking without a clue, "What's up, sexy?"

She didn't say anything, instead grabbing him by the elbow with a strength he didn't know she had and lifting him to his feet. Before he knew what had happened, they were at the edge of the pond and -- with a shove he didn't see coming in the least -- he was falling over backwards, splashing into the chilly blue.

A moment later he shot up to the surface, screaming out from the shock to his system, "Jesus CHRIST!!" He managed to get to his feet, finding himself standing up to his hips, the chill waking him quickly. He was only now aware of what he'd almost said, and unsure of what to say or how to apologize, Robbie simply turned and walked off toward the edge of the forest, intending to return to the warm hot spring he'd enjoyed earlier and try to warm up.

Eletha's brow furrowed, as she wanted to make sure what she heard. Was Robbie asking her...?

The conversation was abruptly ended with Carla storming back into the clearing, the magic of the place circling around her. Other than shouting Robbie's name, Carla didn't say a word, but used the magic of the place to stand Robbie up and toss him into the pond.

Robbie must have decided that discretion was the better part of valor, because he walked off into the forest.

Eletha, a confused look on her face, asked Carla, "I feel I missed something."

"Yeah, well, so will Robbie if he tries that again," Carla said, mostly to herself than to Eletha.

Of course, what she meant Robbie would be missing was the cock that she'd cut off, even if she had to use his Fiberglas sword to do it. But she didn't explain that to Eletha. Instead, she sat on a smooth stone near Eletha and stared at the ground for a moment, burning up inside. Robbie had embarrassed her, even if their new friend didn't quite understand what he'd done to cause that embarrassment. Carla knew she couldn't leave Eletha hanging on the situation, but how did she do that without essentially saying My lover wants to fuck you.

"I ... I don't know how it is in your world, Eletha," Carla began, having missed all of the conversation the other two had had except the part where Robbie was about to ask What's it gonna take for me to get between your thighs? "Here ... in this part of Earth, at this time in history ... it is fairly common for men and women who ... oh, jeez, how do I explain this?" She hesitated, cleared her throat, and began again. "In our culture, love ... and making love ... well, they don't always come hand in hand. Men and women, like Robbie and I ... sometimes sex ... making love ... it's something we do without ... well, without the lengthy period of what my gramma would have called courtship ... you know ... spending time to get to know one another well ... spending time learning whether or not you feel you and your friend, your suitor are, well, let's call it suited for one another. Sometimes..."

Carla felt a blush fill her face, and she chuckled nervously. "Well, to be honest, sometimes two people simply go for it. Without spending the necessary time to get to know one another, to know whether they are the right one for each other, they just have sex because ... well ... it's just sex. It's not love. It's not long term. It's just ... it's just now."

She looked up from the patch of grass at which she'd been staring and asked, "Does that make any sense?"

Eletha nodded, not at all embarrassed or upset to discussing this topic. It was probably because she understood Carla was explaining things to her, and not propositioning her, as she suspected Robbie had been.

"In some places in my world, this custom. In others, different customs. Where I am, I will remain maiden until my heart is opened, and I open other heart. But there should be no embarrass speaking such things. It is understood just discussing customs. Only bad if you try to make my custom worse than yours, or I try to make you follow my custom," Eletha concluded.

"Except dwarves," Eletha said sternly. "Never ask dwarves about sex customs. Dwarves offended if asked about sex lives. Important thing to remember," she instructed Carla.

"Dwarves..." Carla said softly, chuckling. She looked into Eletha eyes and felt another blush fill her face. "You have to understand, we don't have all of these different races here. I mean, we have races, what we call races. Humans of different colored skin, often with unique body features. Eyes, noses, mouths ... different a bit. Some races average a bit taller than others. Some have more bulky physiques.

"But, we are all humans, the same species. In fact, here we would probably call Elves, Dwarves, and the like different species, not different races. And while we only have one advanced, intelligent species, like Robbie told you earlier ... you have many."

Carla cocked her head a bit, suddenly realizing her presumption. "I mean ... Dwarves and such. Are they intelligent? Like you? Do they have magic? Tell me about them. I would love to know more."

In the forest downstream from the pond once more, a dejected Robbie had stripped out of his soaking wet clothes and hung them over tree branches out of the rising humidity of the hot spring, before he himself slipped back down into it again. The warmth after being tossed into the cold pond was incredible. As he lay there, he thought about how Carla had so easily picked him up from his sitting position, dragged him across the meadow to the water, and tossed him in with the push of just one hand. How the hell did she do that? Or sure, he was drunk; and she'd caught him off guard. But he outweighed her by over 80 pounds and was strong enough to lay on his back with her in his hands and bench press her a dozen times.

He didn't contemplate the issue long, though. Between the drink, the heat, the bubbling water, and the after glow of masturbating yet again, he was passed out against the muddy bank in less than a minute again.

Eletha couldn't help but laugh. "Sometimes stubbornness of dwarves make you question intelligence, but yes, intelligent like me. Like you. And all races have cousins. Some cousins dark, some light, some dwell in cities, some dwell in hills. It is like here. Wondrous to me, normal to you, your world. My world, wondrous to you, normal to me. But I think both are wondrous, we just forget sometime."

Eletha paused, then reached forward, caressing Carla's right ear with her fingers. "So you pretend to be paryadel. Half elf half human. You see what it like for real? Try?"

Carla nodded emphatically, letting Eletha take her hand. Eletha coaxed Carla into repeating a mantra after her, and the two disappeared, following their hearts as they explored endless worlds of magic.

And what of Robby? He would never see either of these two women again, and his life would be all the emptier for that fact.

THE END
