Where I am and where I am from are two different places, dear elf. So, I'll answer both.

I am in N. Calif.

I'm from Hawaii.
 
Born and raised in Illinois, far enough outside of Chicago to live in a rural area, but close enough to be there in 2 hours.


Where I am now?

Northwest South Carolina.
 
I'm resisting the urge to say 'my father's ballsac' (what? It's where I started)

Born in Oklahoma, raised between there and Georgia. Lived in Florida for a bit.

Now in Washington, home of the Sparkling Vampires and Rain.
 
Upstate NY. Moved to SC when I was 6. Came back here and never left since.
I've only been to NYC once.
I'm closer to Canada by 3 hours.

Where I am is known for wine and Thyri's guns. :p

There are red necks everywhere, honestly. Even where I live. They are just less obvious about their hate. I got really good at pretending to be straight really fast. My ex was the daughter of a preacher. That was loads of fun....

To be fair, I wouldn't equate rednecks with hate. There are ignorant people of all stripes who hate. And not all rednecks do. By any subjective standard, people would say I'm a redneck, gun toting, PBR watching, pontoon boatin' southern girl. But if that's all you saw me as, you'd be missing a lot. Just ask Palemoon. ;) I'd like to think I don't hate anyone. Some people annoy me sometimes, but I have the good grace to keep it to myself usually.

I left out the parts where I lived in places like Wisconsin, or Minnesota. Suffice it to say I lived in the mid-west a good portion of my life.
 
This is fair, Thryi. My apologies. Most of the ones I've encountered were full of hate. But I do know a few who are not. My apologies for over generalizing.
