For a long time I've been struck by how many people I see here are from outside the U.S. (Perhaps Lit. began outside?) I'm wondering if it's really the case that we have a really broad range of countries represented, or whether I just gravitate to people outside the U.S.

Can you tell us what country you're from? Or, at least, whether you're from the U.S., English speaker outside the U.S., non-English speaking?

I'm from Eastern Europe, despite my great english accent. But I assume a lot of people here are from the US.

Washington State, not far (-123.101845 longitude) from the farthest western point of the contiguous U.S.

Also New Zealand!

You can often tell, or get a pretty good guess in, depending on how people write their stories, and their vocabulary. It's quite fun to try and figure out.

Nebraska-born. Know the place fairly well, but I never lived there.

All over the world. I'm an Army and Intel agency brat--raised all over the world. From the very beginning. My parents were living in one state but I was born in a different state--they'd crossed state lines to go to a movie.

I'm originally from Long Island, NY but moved to Florida when I was twelve. And yes, I do have one of the most screwed-up accents you've ever heard.

What's more interesting is where I'm going, how I plan to get there and how much it's going to cost.
