need some help please.

we're going to be holidaying in and around nottinghamshire for a few weeks. mostly near sherwood forest.

so whats there that we HAVE to do? remember we have loads of kids

help please? :cattail:

ooooooh!

You *have* to go to the arcade there. They have old stylie one-armed-bandits, fake horse racing and things like that and they all run off twopenny pieces, so you can give each kid a coupla quid and let them go nuts - great fun! I was hooked for ages.

There's a really nice farm somewhere round there, too, that sells the most *amazing* ice creams, like honey with stem ginger pieces and stuff... I'll see if I can remember the name...

ETA: Came across this listing for a farm park when I was looking for the ice cream - go and pet the animals?

YAY- I found the name of the ice cream place and they have a website :) Thaymar Dairy

Have fun

You need to rescue Maid Marian from the forest. She'll be completely naked and tied to a tree. Can I be Maid Marian????

the castle is def on the to do list. vana's been and she said its incredible

You're not that far from York (approx hour and half drive from Notts) so it might be worth a day trip? Loads to do there - York Dungeons (icky but kids love gore), Castle Museum (ace), olde worlde shops, more shops, tea rooms, castle walls to walk round, York Designer Outlet...

:)

If you have the time to get to York, I'd definitely recommend it (and not just because we live here ;) ), but you can't see everything in a day. Never been to Nottingham, so I can be any help there, though I'm pretty sure Robin Hood wasn't born there (Guy Fawkes was born in York though!).
