I've been lurking around for the longest time and finally got the guts to take the plunge and join in January.

After that, I still crept around but held back. So this month, I decided to get involved and now I'm hooked!

I heard about the elbow thing, but did you know:

Nope. "Bless you" first came about when the black plague was sweeping Europe. They said bless you because they knew soon you would die.

*slightly worried* Those are some cool facts, but I thought ppl said 'Bless You' because it was thought (in the dark ages or whatever) that the devil could get inside you with the huge intake of breath you take before a sneeze and that the actual sneezing action was to get rid of the devil within.....but I could be wrong because I don't have that much free time on my hands.....that could be about coughing.....

About the sneezing thing

I think you guys maybe right. It developed in the Dark Ages (not sure if around the plague) but I remember something about the soul being snatched or escaping from the body and the 'bless you' being to safeguard it.
