Aha, just looked it up for myself, apparently it's not, and more are not that I likewise thought were. Surprising. I've lived in some of those states and didn't realize they weren't midwest, and likewise lived in midwest states and didn't know they were.
You move around as much as I have, certain "facts" become less important.

Hanging out with a nice glass of Scotch here in Iowa. If that curvy, angelic lady from Missouri is headed out on a road trip- might as well stop by. If Scotch isn't your thing, we would happily find whatever you like. And maybe, just maaaybe, chase those curves of yours around for a bit.

I hate to say but I always thought scotch tasted like I imagine diesel fuel would taste
