Did you ever look at some of your own stories and think "God I DID NOT write that" LoL Been going thru some of my old-stuff ready to have a book-burning party.

GOD yes! Not so much as my stories as the earlier poems. I'm talking '98 or so maybe. They were soooo silly. They rhymed - like wise/pies and me/be. *wince* I could gladly kill myself for it... but I kept them to have a good laugh over when I'm older and more able to accept that I was so dumb.

The stories are kind of bad too... but not much. I was not so dumb with them. But who knows what I will think a year later. Sigh.

LoL I live in mortal fear that when I am gone someone will find and publish them lol

Hello.

I learned very early to hide all my stories in the "in preview" file for this site. I have left some there for weeks.

That way I can go back and delete all of the crap I think is crap. LoL.

The crap that gets away from me that I think might not be crap but usually sounds that way to me after I reread it sometimes gets posted anyway, so I just go hide until it is way down the list.

I'm past the denial stage - the question I now pose to myself is 'what was I on at the time??' Kidding.

I'm proud of my work, and looking at my first story and its shaking beginnings, I see just how far I've come with each story. And then I look at my current story and think just how far I've got to go :p

Yes. I leave them posted as a reminder of how bad a writer I can be. Eventually I will rewrite them (on the Greek Kalends).

When I write crap on purpose, for example:

The Worst Chain Story Ever Ch 01, and
The Garderobe

I get an H

Early stuff…hmm, lots of embarrassing melodrama. Heaps of it. Whopping lot of it. Melo-Da-Rama. I also suffered from acute over-explaining, which I think is often a symptom of not-so-cute M-e-l-o-d-r-a-m-a.

Somewhat less dramatically yours,

Yui ^_^

It seems that I am a poor judge of crap. My own opinions on some of my works are wildly at odds with their score's, views & feedback. I can't even look at something I worte even a year ago without seeing all the glaring faults and things I could have done better.

I jealously guard all my old stories – especially the bad ones. That way, no matter how lousy my latest story may be, there are earlier ones which are infinitely more lousy. In that way, I can always claim that my work is improving.
