When You Strike an Unexpected Nerve

Unexpected nerves? Don’t get me started. Transcribed from another message board:

Troll named Nero- “You can’t be a fan of that celebrity, Ach! She’s part of a criminal cult!”

Me- “But she’s hot, already in a few of my stories, and she has no other writers using her as a character. Also, upon research, people are ok with satire of religion in erotica, just not this religion. Someone needs to open the door, I volunteer. Plus, it’s not a criminal cult to the many dedicated people in it. How about we make the celebrity a reformer motivated to fix the religion by becoming a bisexual swinger slash highly selective unicorn living the good she sees in her beliefs and editing out the bad? She acquires others as disciples, faces off with fanatics and hypocrisy, indulges various passions…”

Nero- “That’s… freaking awesome!”

My Passion series was born from that conversation. It burned me out back in the day and the celeb on whom I based the heroine is now in a happy relationship I respect and support, so it’s not something I’m interested in continuing, but the memories are nice. :)
