There's about five ways of spelling/pronouncing Mao Zedong's name, but they don't have a problem comparing President Obama to him, much less fucking up our own president's name on purpose. How many Americans (or people from any other English speaking country for that matter) can pronounce Aung San Suu Kyi correctly? If that were the worst of Bush's verbal flubs, I would have disliked the man a lot less than I did. If I know Bush, he probably would have referred to Suu Kyi with male pronouns and thought "he" was the president of Burundi or Bhutan or some such.

And while I look forward to the day when we can go back to calling it Burma, the official name for the time being is Myanmar, like it or not.
