When the sky falls...

High above, beyond sight, something moved. Silent. Patient. For eons, the Bang-Bang asteroid had swung around the sun in its endless shifting course. Long before memory, its return was inevitable. The last time it came, it changed everything.
Sixty thousand years ago, as neanderthals roamed Europe and homo sapiens spread out of Africa, the asteroid tore through the sky, scattering fragments and unleashing a strange energy. This energy activated dormant genetic triggers, driving those early humans together, intensifying their instinct to fuck and multiply, endlessly. Though, over time, its influence faded.
Scientists had predicted the asteroid’s return. A safe pass, the media insisted, echoing their so-called experts. But as it approached, something slipped by unnoticed. A fragment broke loose, drifting toward Earth, carrying with it that same ancient trigger. A force that once changed the fate of humanity, now waiting to ignite again. Whoever ecountered it wouldn't stand a chance.​

It's written well. Not trash. But if that's the lead in to the story, it explains the entire plot in three paragraphs. No more mystery.

Leave all that until later in the story when some scientist is explaining why some small town is now filled with sex crazed maniacs.

Start with two young people who see the meteor hit the ground. They find it, being it back to town but not before stopping to fuck every fifteen minutes.

They bring it to town in the back of a pickup under a tarp. The couple think it might be valuable so they keep it a secret and leave it be until they figure out how to exploit it.

Meanwhile it's energy is moving through town.
