From what I have read it is not very easy for a sitting president to lose an election. He has all the free air time he needs, has all the media covering him.

How big of a fuck up is trump to lose the way he has?

He claims he was elected because of the poor job the Obama administration did. Now the people want them back? Wow. That must really hurt him.

I am looking forward to his whining and crying over the next year. :)

Exactly, when was the last time we had a one term president? 1992!

Not only that but he never even won the popular vote.

Him being the typical peanut-brained old racist, thought the presidency was so easy because a black man could do it.

He failed miserably. He is scheming right now and I don't trust his next move, he is the embodiment of pure evil and greed.

all those insults about joey b... and people still want him over trump.

What I remember about 1992 (the first presidential election in which I voted) is a whole lot of disbelief and denial on the losing end. In one respect, they've never gotten over it: to this day, Republicans still whine about how Ross Perot cost Bush the election when study after study has shown otherwise.

Another anecdote I've heard but can't confirm: traditionally, when it's become clear that a candidate is going to lose, a top adviser will pull hir aside to deliver the bad news a few days before the election, so the candidate has a fair chance to get over the shock by the time the bad news officially arrives. Needless to say, this never goes over well. When Jimmy Carter got The Talk, Rosalyn cried, for example. But when James Baker, the then-Secretary of State, delivered the news to Bush Sr in 1992, the reaction was flat out denial. Bush reportedly said, "Oh, that's not true. I'm the commander in chief." He literally couldn't fathom that Bill Clinton could win.

As for Trump, my guess is it was something like that, but on steroids! But on further reflection, I doubt any member of his staff was willing to break the news to him, if they were even up to admitting it to themselves.

There are lots of photos of the White House interiors and grounds from Obama’s time, so Joe and Jill will be able to get everything back the way it was.

You couldn't pay me enough to sleep in the same bedroom Trump slept in for four years.

Are you shitting us?

This is all personal promotional gold and he's going to go straight back to making money off his brand with enhanced credentials, contacts, and 24/7 Secret Service protection. He'll be an even larger footprint than he was as a businessman or under the constraints of the Presidency. He will make a few comments about it, that is expected, but he's larger than your electoral repudiation...
