When Kevin met Hailey...again(Closed for The_gladiator)

"That's good." he said, last minute thinking making him throw a couple of towls into the basket they were packing. He grabbed a cooler and dumped some ice in it throwing in a couple bottles of water and after a thought some soda and beer, "Never know what we'll want." he said justifying his choices.

She nodded, seeing what he had packed into the cooler. "Good thinking," she told him with a smile, putting the last of the things she had into the basket. "I think we're all set."

Mark grabbed the small cooler and walked to the door locking it as he held it open for Hailey, "You trust me not to get you lost in the woods hmm?" he teased as he set the cooler in the back of the truck out of the sun, before he unlocked the cab for her.

Hiley laughed, getting into the truck and setting the basket on the seat next to her. "I trust you. Besides...if we get lost in the woods, we'll have to keep each other warm at night," she told him with a grin.

"Yeah, the nights get cool at night." he said with a smile, "Maybe its a good thing I brought a blanket too." he teased reaching over to pat her shoulder pulling her closer to him as he moved the car into first gear in preparation of starting the truck.

She laughed, resting her head on his shoulder when he pulled her closer. "Mmm...you think of everything, don't you," she teased, giving his leg a squeeze when she rested her hand on it.

"Apparently I don't." he said, "Or I'd have an automatic shift car so I could hold your hand, I mean not like I'm complaining where its at mind you." he said smiling over at her as he pulled them out onto the main road driving towards the main part of the ranch.

She smiled. "Something to think about for the future, I guess," she told him with a grin, then looked out the window as they started to come up on the ranch. "It's beautiful," she murmured as she got her first look at the ranch.

"Yes it is," he said, pointing out the various hurds of cattle and the corral of horses. "There are some crops planted but were more a ranch than a farm, although there are is a nice sized orcherd, with fruit trees." he said as they drove through the ranch.

She listened with a smile as he spoke, looking at all the things he pointed out. "You really do love this place," she said after a moment when she could see the happiness in his eyes, not even able to imagine how much hard work he'd put in since she'd left him.

"I've worked hard for it." he said, "We just opened a couple years ago, it had been closed for years, we got it reopened, which took a lot of work." he said with a smile. "That's one of the reasons I'm one of the owners, cause of the work I've put in." he said, he wasn't bragging just explaining to her, although pride and satisfaction showed in his face.

"You definitely deserve being an owner," she told him with a smile, leaning over to kiss his cheek. She settled back against the seat as they drove, listening to him talk.

"I mean I'm just a minor partner, but I have a vote, which is the important part. A vote that carrys the same weight as the others, even if I couldn't contribute much money to the project, and can't afford to live in a big ranch house on the property, but hey, its nice anyway." he said smiling.

"Well...I like your house, size and location," she told him with a smile, giving his leg another squeeze. "I think it's perfect."

My size of what?" he asked smirking at her taking a second to pat her hand on his inner thigh.

She laughed, giving his cheek another quick kiss. "I was talking about the size of your house. But now that you mention it...the size of this is good too," she said with a grin, one of her fingers tapping briefly between his legs.

He smiled, "I aim to please." he said with a small smile as he turned down and began to follow the river towards the woods and where the spring/stream was.

"You definitely do please," she told him with a grin, then turned her head to look out the window. "It must be beautiful here in the winter...with snow all around and the river starting to ice up," she said, then smiled. "I'm sure it's beautiful year round."

"Yes it is, although it doesn't usually get too snowy." he said smiling as he found a place to park his truck, "Its about half a mile through the woods to the clearing I have in mind." he explained, "That's ok, right?" he said.

She smiled as she nodded. "That sounds perfect," she told him as she got out of the truck, grabbing the basket before she shut the door. "Besides...you get to carry the heavy one," she teased.

"What you're going to make me cary you?" he teased grabbing the cooler as he stretched standing back to his full height.

She mock glared at him, giving him a little nudge with her elbow. "Watch it, pal...I just might pull the 'bitchy city girly' routine," she warned teasingly, a grin on her face.

"Oh I could cary you." Kevin said ith a smile, "But there's no garentee that I won't drop you in the stream then." he said with a smirk as he lead her towards the path his left arm going around her shoulders pulling her in close to his side.

She kissed his cheek, leaning against him as they walked. "You do that, then you better be prepared to be coming in with me," she told him with a laugh, her right arm going around his waist as they continued on.

Mmm, that could be fun you k now." Kevin said stoping to pull her close turning his head and letting his eyes close as he bent his head to kiss her softly, unable to resist the lure of her lips.
