When is a Newbie not a Newbie anymore?

Lasher's post, among others about newbies, has had me wondering. In Lasher's post he called on Siren as if she had been around forever and no longer was a newbie... but she's only been here since June.

Weird Harold (March) and Lovely Latina (June ?!?!) seem like they have been permanent fixtures to me but really don't have all that much time.

Patryn (Feb) takes newbie comments personally

and Jade (April) seems to be everybody's sweetheart/lil sis (including mine *smoochies)

soooooo... when is a newbie not a newbie anymore?

sooo umm you are saying... because i am inquistive on this subject that i am still a newbie? thats OK.. cause i've never thought a newbie was a bad thing to be.... newbies add life to the party .. a new entre to the menu.. freshen up the stale...

i know there was a time when being a newbie was a cool thing back in Oct 1999 and Dec 1999 I'm sure hehe

in my personal opinion i think when others get to know and understand your personality and are familiar with your Username then you are not a newbie anymore... but like you Rose.. everyone has their own opinion .. and thats what i really wanted to see from this post

Well, I registered in March, and it still seems like a lot of poeple don't know who I am. I know Lasher would never call on me, and I'm nothing more than the butt of DCL's jokes, but oh well... It just happens that way sometime. C'est la vie.

Well, I've been here since March, and am closing in on 500 posts, but I still think of myself as a newbie. It's not so much how long, how many posts, who answers, etc. It's how you think of yourself. Even after all this time and as many posts as I have made I still like to lurk and see what other people have to say. And contrary to what some others may say, I get a mild voyeristic pleasure out of the threads that turn into flirt fests, even if I don't jump right in.

I wouldn't put too much faith in the date registered field of the profile. I registered in Oct or Nov 99. I was registered and posting by Thanksgiving 99, yet my registeration date is listed as being mid march.

On a recent thread, Naked Hunny's post jumped to the top of the thread and every post was dated 12 Aug even though the thread was almost three days old at that point.

There's something strange going on with the way the dates are being processed by the BB software. My registration date might have gotten changed in the conversion from UBB to vBB, but other strange problems with dates and tracking the last post read can't be attributed to that.

I don't know I think after you get by that VIRGIN status you should no longer be a Newbe..cause youve been here long enough to get to know every one and to let every onw know you.. and if you leave and some one notices that you are no longer there, then you shouldn't be considered a newbe either...

BTW Thanks to every one that has missed me.. I did miss you too tho I did have a lot on my mind the last few months..
