...catch An Evening at La Cage at the Riviera Hotel and Casino. It was very funny and most of the impersonators were spot on. We weren't planning on going but my father wanted to see a "real Vegas" show before my parents went back to NY. It was a lot of fun.

...get a margarita yard at La Salsas Mexican Grill inside the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

...eat at the Village Seafood Buffet inside the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino .

...watch the FREE fountain show at the Bellagio.

...experience Caesar's Magical Empire at Caesar's Palace.

Other Las Vegans and visitors to our wonderful city, feel free to add to this list. Being a newer Las Vegan, I have a limited knowledge of the best places to go.

Mystere at Treasure Island

Free Pirate Battle at Treasure Island

Volcano at Mirage, Sigfried and Roy/Danny Gans/Tigers etc.

The Spice Market Buffet at the Aladdin

The gorgeous women at the Hard Rock Hotel pool ;)

The 5.99 steak and shrimp at Mr Lucky's inside the Hard Rock Hotel (Its not on the menu, you have to ask)

Nobu at the Hard Rock Hotel (Japanese Fusion cuisine)

4.99 Steak special at Ellis Island (literally the best in town)

Voodoo Lounge at the Rio

Ghost Bar at the Palms
(which incidentally, has one of the best slot clubs in town)

The Buffet at Green Valley Ranch Station (way off the strip in Henderson but cool anyway)

Emerils at the MGM Grand

Aureole/Rock Lobster/rumjungle at Mandalay Bay (fan fucking tastic casino) also Home to the House of Blues

Charo at the Sahara (its a shameless plug)

...um I will think of more eventually...

:D

We ate there tonight actually. The food was great. The shrimp were peeled. :) However, our server was horrible. We had so many dirty dishes that just never left the table.

...99 cent breakfast at the Nevada Palace. (It is a bit off the strip but easy to get to)

GVR service is real erratic...but the food is wonderful...

Border Grill over there is also good...

Was at the Orleans tonight...and obviously didn't win the Megabucks...but not for lack of trying

Orleans has one of the best theatres in town ...THX sound system and reclining chairs...

A friend of mine, born and bred local, said that we shouldn't play MegaBucks. That the winners are always cursed and wind up having soemthing horrific happen to them within 3 years of winning.

that rumor got started because the woman that won the record jackpot of 26 million was hit by a drunk driver about 3 months after winning. The accident killed her sister and paralysed her from the waist down and now you see her around town in her state of the art wheel chair...

haven't heard anything about anyone else...

Besides the odds on the Megabucks fucking suck

better to play black jack or full pay videopoker...

My birthday is Wed and we are kinda poor from my parents visit. What is a good inexpensive show to go see?

what are you in the mood for?

Magic? Raunch? Latin?

Hmmm

I hear good things about the Mac King show over at Caesars

Charo Bravo! is a high energy production I think the price is around 45 dollars for that one

Melinda is okay...her illusions are pretty standard but she's still good

Lance Burton is also well done

Oh if you get the chance...see Penn and Teller when they come to town...they are always good

I would love to see them. I bet tickets are very expensive but not as pricey as Eagle tickets.

I'm going to be in Vegas this week.

Seen Penn and Teller there twice.... they're fantastic (I also saw them on Broadway many many years ago) - unfortunately the 2nd time I saw them in Vegas it was EXACTLY the same show as a year before.

I've done a number of things listed here but there are a lot of good suggestions as well.

Are you all saying that Mystere is better than O?

What bar/nightclub is the most fun?

Sorry my computer has a crashing problem when I encounter pop ups.

O is supposed to be excellent. We tried to get tickets for my paretn's visit but they were completely sold out. Our next choise was Mystere but that was sold out as well. Both shows are supposed to be fantastic. O is a little bit more expensive. It is at the Bellagio afterall.

New night club is opening in the Palms called Skin. Not sure if it opened or is opening. The theme is a giant beach party.

Frequent Fast Food restaruants but only pay with quarters.

Keep getting married to different, drunk women until the 5 buck an hour guy who marries you recognizes you.

Vegas is the porn capital of the world: Take advantage

remember where the door is...your room to for that matter.. i always plan an easily remembered path from my room to the swimming pool, or my room to the door so i can get the fuck outside..away from the constant ding ding ding.. im crawling in my skin thinking about it. i guess im not much for concrete jungles..

You get used to the sound of a casino. I don't even hear the dings anymore.

ive been there several times...still not used to it. i just cant figure out why i go back.. to get drunk i guess..

There are other things here than the casinos. The casinos just stand out more due to their color and neon flashing lights. Try a soothing visit to the cactus gardens at Ethel M Chocolate Factory or why not a trip out to Red Rock Canyon.

Myth busting time: It's against the law here to perform a marriage for any person who is not in control of their faculties -- ie drunk or stoned.

There are two "gentleman's clubs" here that advertise on the local ESPN radio affiliate.

One has a separate phone number for a complimentary Limo service to provide transport from your hotel to the club. I never remember the name of the place, but it sounds like it's a bit of an upscale strip club.

The second is named "The Library" -- notable for it's tacky ads implying that you can tell your wife you're going to the library and she'll not realize you're ogling strippers all night.

For the ladies, the Olympic Garden has male strippers weekdays. (If anyone is really interested, I'll pay more attention to their ads and note the specific days and times.)

Best strip clubs:
Olympic garden
Spearmint Rhino
Cheetah's
Club Paradise

but they can get very expensive...ask how much your drink will cost first...

Best Clubs/Lounges
Rain at the Palms
Ra at Luxor
SRO on Latin night but its a rough neighborhood
rumjungle at Mandalay Bay

ummm I will think of more when the fog burns off
