Women didn't make the first move, in fact women didn't make any overt moves. That expectation seems to have changed ...

What else seems different now from when you were a young adult

And everyone should have the freedom and initiative to hit on anyone they like and be ready to face whatever comes next..

That used to happen or happens now?

Men seem a little less together now, too many overt feels too often mentioned for an old fashioned girl

These days its alot harder to spot the females in a crowded room.. Androgyny is fashionable..
(Bicycles dont have one big and one tiny wheel):D
I miss Curlywurlys(except in winter)... :)

Is this better?

Don't you think younger folks seem more self centered?

Morning sunshine :cattail:

No, I think they have lots more challenges than we did. What I worry about is the lack of respect for each other and for the opposite gender.

I've never been mistaken for a dude. And androgyny has always been a thing, I rather like it TBH

What I do find difficult,to admire is the caked on make up and plastic look that many younger girls seems to aspire to now. And the need to live your life in public

I agree! I guess thats what I was trying to say about manners.

I dont understand the above either!

I have noticed that teenagers rarely help random elderly people anymore. Holding open a door for them, loading groceries if the are struggling, stopping traffic so they can across the street etc etc

WIWGU...
--TV dinners were in foil containers and went in the oven.
--The TV had three major networks, PBS and a couple of independent stations that usually didn't come in so good.
--The top-rated TV show today gets numbers that would have had it threatened with cancellation back then.
--Something called "TV dinners" existed.

WIWGU - young girls dressed like kids, not like sexual objects. So many of them dress and act way beyond their years. The fashion industry promotes it, so many parents buy into it.
I'm not a prude, and I do enjoy sexy fashions, but it should be age appropriate - IMHO.

Really? I grew up in the 1970s, and there was a lot of revealing fashion then

Take a look at even elementary school girls, how they dress. They look like some high school girls did in the 70's. Younger and younger girls adopt the styles of older girls. Then I think of things like Jon Benet Ramsey, not as extreme an example as I would have first thought. It isn't uncommon.

Holidaying abroad was just a fantasy in our home. Caravans were the only way to take a break

WIWGU there were 'rabbit ears' on the black and white tv that we had to move around to get reception every time we changed the channel,

WIWGU.....going to MacDonalds was a treat.....because we got to see the updated number of people served....
