Those whacky NEA fruitloops!

http://www.washtimes.com/national/20020819-34549100.htm

Note: I'm not here long. I just needed to rant a little, but I won't even do that. I'll just open this up for discussion, and it's probably already old news in here, so just disregard this entire thread.

I'll be here for the next 10 minutes, then I've gotta go.

sorry to hijack but hi rawhomur missed ya :)

but from that article i actually think its great idea ... we dont want to teach kids to hate if you can teach them to learn reason and explore ideas and issues thats better then hate

even if the people deserve to be hated i dont think kids should be taught that

edited to say please dont flame me especially because you're only here or a while :)

LOL I could never flame you, silly.

The main part I have a problem with is them talking about America's injustices as part of 9/11 sensitivity training. How's that going to help kids to cope?

Hi Raw!!
You've been missed!

Thanks! I've missed it here, but I'm afraid I can't stay.

I figure I may post as an Unreg once a week. I just logged in as me this time because I figured to be here for a few minutes and it's easier than being Unregistered.

thanks :)

the idea is that these kids will be the future of america in say 20 years why shouldnt they look inward to making america a better place ... i think its better to look and teach kids what american/england/we did wrong rather then to focus on the terrible act of hate against america and to teach the kids to hate the people that did it

thats just my opinion

Okay, rather than discussing this, can I just beg you to post a pic of your face for 2 minutes? LOL

If I rant my blood pressure will go up too much.
:D

lol it was rather bad of me to disagree with you considering you're not here for long sorry :p

You do know you just totally perked up my day right?

Woo hoo!

I'm assuming it's because I showed up and not just the content of the link I posted?

LOL Not bad of you at all. I'm used to not being in the majority in regard to political ideas on Lit.

And you're avoiding my plea.

Hiya! One thing I like about you is that you're one of the few Litsters left who has more posts than I do. I get depressed when I think about my post total. LOL

Actually, like a fart in the wind, it's time for me to drift away. Sorry, that was horrible.

Oh raw I see nothing wrong here. September 11 has to be taught within a context of history - it's not just some random thing that happened to us one day. If we don't teach that it'll be scarier for kids, and, in the long run, scarier for the world.

There's a difference between teaching in context — and depending on the age group, they may not be able to grasp such contextual information — and placing blame on America somewhere. Even if you think the U.S. invited the attack on itself, it simply cannot be argued that the people in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon deserved to die. They were completely innocent. And the people who did it are very, very evil for doing it.

Sorry, just gotta back RH up on this.

You missed my tata Raw. ;)

Not really. I have big ears, and friends who hang out here. Sometimes, lurking invisibly can pay off.

Okay, lurking isn't really accurate, because I just came because of your breast. Your breast pic made me come. You should feel honored.

:D
