So I'm told this means: "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgendered, Intersexual, Queer, Questioning, 2-Spirited". Don't ask me what "2-spirited" is or how some of these differ from others. Seriously, at what point does this attempt to be as inclusive as possible become parody. Where's The Onion when it's needed?

How about just stick with LGandEE? - Lesbian, Gay and Everyone Else.

Two things;
There is strength in numbers, so it's to our benefit to include as many othered groups as we can find-- and it's pretty fucking easy, too, to find groups that have been treated like shit by the straight majority.

(Two-Spirits is a native American term, by the way, of which there are plenty in Toronto.)

2-spirited is a Native Indian phrase for many mixed gender roles. What I LOVE about Toronto is the pride and acceptance of all sexualities from all walks of life every day of the year. This is probably why Pride Toronto is one of the biggest events of the year and why I miss being there at this time. PRIDE! PAR-TAY

This. Someone who was two-spirited was considered holy, as they were able to see things from both sides. They were loved by the gods to be gifted in this way.

I agree with the opinion expressed, but why single out two white males? Couldn't it just as well be two straight persons of any race or ethnicity and gender?

Yeah SB, but the list of all the categories of people who have been fucked over one way or the other, could easily be ten pages long.

And at some point an acronym just becomes weird lengthy string of characters. As a rethorical decive, it loses it's bouyancy after a while.

If it's really inclusiveness that is sought, wouldn't it be wiser to just present an idea, and let anyone who feel included be included?

Actually, according to the article in today's L.A. Times, I guess it should be specifically two straight persons who happen to be either African-American or Hispanic, those being the two groups most adamantly opposed to gay marriage.

Edmonton's Pride Parade turned out to be more political than celebratory, which is nice. Still can't elieve Heather Klimchuk, one who voted for Bill 44, had the audacity to step up on the stage at the Pride Parade thinking she could earn political brownie points for doing such. She was promptly booed off the stage without her being able to say a word to the crowd.
