When do you turn the heat on in your house?

It's currently 56 degrees outside, and I'm freezing in my apartment. Is it still too warm to ask my landlord to put on the heat? I'm not sure how these things are supposed to go.

If it gets below 60-65 in my apartment, I might tap the heat on for a bit.

You have to ask your landlord to turn it on?

If you're cold, go for it. You shouldn't have to freeze your ass off!

My heat is on whenever I'm cold. My apartment doesn't have the heat regulated for a certain date.

However, I believe in NYC thy have to turn the heat on when the temp drops to a certain level according to law. But I'm not sure what it is.

I'm in New England, and my landlord turned on the heat weeks ago. You should give yours a call.

The Gatsby- trying to make me jealous, hmmm? Well, it worked- lol.

I'll probably call my landlord today about it.

I live in my own house. I turn it on whenever I feel like it. I think mine's been on for about a month. Then again, I also have it set warmer than normal right now. Someone might freeze his ass of if I didn't.

It's time...

It's time to ask for that heat, babe. You've got pipes filled with water in there, remember?! And if you wait much longer, a really sudden and sharp cold spell could freeze 'em...then you and Landlord will have a little bit of a problem...

As for me, only when the pipes are in danger of freezing do I turn my heat on. I LOVE cold weather! More opportunity to snuggle under quilts and rely on body heat to survive. :D

hah, it's always on here. Except for maybe a week in July.

I will never forget 2 summers ago, Mr Keen and I were at a rented cottage with another couple out near Bath. We had to borrow some wood from a neighbor so we could start a fire to warm the place up.

It was August 22nd.
