When a woman wants something

She said something about going home
She said something about needing to spend some time alone
And she wondered out loud what it was she had to find
But she's already made up her mind

All my friends told me she was too young
Well I knew that myself and I tried to run
But the faster I ran the more I fell behind
Because she'd already made up her mind

She's already made up her mind

Now there is nothing so deep as the ocean
And there is nothing so high as the sky
And there is nothing so unwavering as a woman
When she's already made up her mind

So now she's sitting at one end of the kitchen table
And she is staring without an expression
And she is talking to me without moving her eyes
Because she's already made up her mind

She's already made up her mind
She's already made up her mind

And she said something about going home
And she said something about needing to spend some time alone
And she wondered out loud what it was she had to find
But she'd already made up her mind

So my friend carry me down to the water's edge
And then sail with me out to that ocean deep
And let me go easy down over the side
And remember me to her

Yes, helluva song writer. And those particular lyrics kinda sum up the belief that a woman usually gets what she wants.

Wish that were true, by the way.

See song lyrics above.
Tell me like I am an idiot: you want me to leave you alone?

I will give you what you want.

How many times do I have to tell you?

Hey, that's not true, I remember one time when I didn't get what I wanted.
damned faulty handcuffs. ;)

SHERYL CROW - Strong Enough

God I feel like hell tonight
Tears of rage I cannot fight
I'd be the last to help you understand
Are you strong enough to be my man?
Nothing's true and nothing's right
So let me be alone tonight
Cause you can't change the way I am
Are you strong enough to be my man?

Lie to me
I promise I'll believe
Lie to me
But please don't leave

I have a face I cannot show
I make the rules up as I go
It's try and love me if you can
Are you strong enough to be my man?

When I've shown you that I just don't care
When I'm throwing punches in the air
When I'm broken down and I can't stand
Will you be strong enough to be my man?

Lie to me
I promise I'll believe
Lie to me
But please don't leave

The first one wasn't, we'll see about the next one... :)

How strange that someone posts this so soon after another thread is posted about the double standard. I have found in my short time studying this that it is the men who don't get what they want who say this. (Sorry ladies but women are just as guilty of complaining about this as men.)

This isn't about who gets what guys. It's about equality. It is about who wants what and why. Each of us have to chose what we want and why, then we can reduce this conflict to the point of sharing.

Agreed Cat. I have a hard time respecting someone who always let me have my way.

Too often, this becomes an issue for women who won't ever be happy (or less demanding) until they get what they want anyway.

With those women, Seacat's point (more ideal, than realistic in my view) may be right, but is still impossible. I'm sure this is true with men too; not meaning to be sexist or to generalize. But I've already come to see this with women (eight and a half million imes, give or take... say, one.... ;) ). It's the old concept of, true about both, but women just happen to be my problem, so I'm bound to notice it more.

Yes, I don't think a homophobic redneck is your cup of tea, or sour apple martini. :D
