Hey everyone. Got a new idea for a thread. I don't know how many people have heard of Robert Jordan and The Wheel of Time series but I will give a brief explanation and if enough interest is shown I will give a short history including locations, characters, weapons, monsters, etc.

C'est Bon?

The Wheel of time is a world of magic, mystical creatures, war and sorrow. Don't get me wrong though. There are no elves, no dwarves, no halflings and the only dragon is a man.

For those of you that have read the books, I do not wish to start the thread in the middle of the current war. Instead, I want to just base the thread in the Wheel of Time universe. So there will be Aiel, a desert dwelling war like people trained in the use of the bow and spear ( Think Diablo 2 amazons who like sand). There will be trollocs, evil warlike creatures who have the body of a man, but the heads of rams, boars, eagles, bears etc. They weild axes, curved swords, sometimes bows and lots of spears. (Think animorphs in chainmail and leather. I want to have about 6 different "factions". The Aiel could be one faction, The humans another, and all evil creatures in another faction and so on and so forth.....

Get the idea? Got it? Got It? Good!

Okay, Here are the "factions":

Humans of Turan ( Neutrals)
-Control literaly half of all human territory, have the largest armies
Situated in the Southern half of the continent

Humans of Westmarch ( Goody two shoes)
-Hold a quarter of the land, smallest armies but fiercest warriors, are currently at war with Vendya, Live in the Northwest

Humans of Vendya ( Plotting, backstabbing greedy scum)
-hold the remaining part of human territory, have medium armies, are at war with Westmarch, boarder Plains of the Damned

Aiel
-have armies the same size as Vendya, but warriors fight like Turanians
-have red hair, grey and green eyes, so able to be identified on sight
- Situated past Sil'akaden, Mountains of the Sacrafice (near Vendya boarder)
in the Aiel Waste, known to them as the Scorched Sanctuary

Warriors of the Shadow
-take up lands on the Plains of the Damned, a land of death and decay
- armies and "citizens" made up of Trollocs ( see description), Undead, Dark ones ( corupt humans) and a sect of priests and wizards who wish only to have the world destroyed and then cloacked in shadow for time eternal

And we will eliminate that sixth faction...

Just to Note, the story will start when every side has at least one player on it, Okay??

Also, the first person to join a certain side gets to start off that sides "role" in the story and any other characters who join that side will have to follow along with the story from the set perspective.

Just to get this straight, I call dibs on Westmarch!

I'm in...

I have read the books and their among my favorites to read. I'll join in if you'll have me, and if so I'll be the Turans. I spend enough time in real life being stuck in the middle... :p

OOC: ah well, you can't lead em all. I'll be from Westmarch, and a high knight at that. I'll be second after Necromencer's character, and have him as my ruling lord.

OOC: I'll start the Aiel if thats alright with you? I'll be the leader of the faction.. what do you say?

Standing at the window's of his rooms in the Castle of Peace, High Lord Valerios De'Turan surveyed his kingdom spread out below. It was a sunny day, just after the last heavy rains of the winter season had fallen and the earth was just starting to break into the first buds of spring. Looking at the landscape Valerios's thoughts ran over the events of the past season and the new that had been brought to him. The armies of Westmarch were on the march again to sack more border towns of the Vendya. It wasn't that the troubled him, it was the fact a whole detachment of their troops had, disappeared. THAT, was troubling to him. He didn't like not knowing things going on in the world. Afterall, how could one have trade and commerce of any sort with armies on the move, and units missing made that situation even worse. Turning from the window he walked across the expansive room to his desk.

Most of all though, it was the fact that he had pushed for peace between the two sides for as long as he could remember and it never happened. It was vexing to him since he knew that the Lord of the Dark would arise again, soon. And that his spies reported intense activity in the wastes of the Aiel. "This was not a time to be killing each other." he thought angrily as he read through some more reports...

Looking across the desalate Plain of the Damned, one stone tower reaches out of the blasted waste. From the edge of the Vendya border, no other structures can be found, except the lone tower. Around the base is camped a masive army of trolloc soilders. The sounds of the tourtued humans the Vendya sold to the Tower of Ulrath can be heard even before the Tower is in view. The trollocs enjoy cooking humans alive in theier masive pots, and humans are hard to come buy. The Master of the Tower struck an agreement with the Vendya government that in return for protection, they would supply captured humans for food.

Up in the Tower of Ulrath...

Mather stalkes over to his battle table to examin the miniturs that represented his forces one agian. No matter how many times he went over the number is in head they still wouldent work out right. The veritable forest of lead figures surounding the tower needed to be moved. Supplies were running out fast. The last time that Mather journied to Shayol Ghul he was ordered to step up the expansions into the human lands.

"At this point two options are present," thought Mather. "I can eather atack the Aiel, or the Westmarch." He tapped his fingger to his lips as he tended to do when thinking. "I wish I could atack the Turans, they would feed my armys for a long time." Mather sighed, "However, I cant realy get my forces to them with out fighting through someone else."

As Mather was walking to his chair, a knock came at the door. He sat down on the rich velvet chair and said, "Come!"
The massive oak door swong open as a Myrddraal entered the room. The newcommer swong his eyeless face around the room taking in the room, finaly coming to rest on Mather. To any normal man, the stare of a Myrddraal is fear incarnate, but Mather is above an imune to such things. Even so the way its cloak hangs still when it should move made him uneasy. "What do you want, fade?" Mather asked with more than a hint of anoyance in being interupted from his thoughts.

"I have a message for you. From the General Karrl," the myrddraal said in an eairy foice that sounded like rotting leather crumbling. The myrddral raised his had exposing a messanger tube.

"YOu may leave it on the table," Mather said, nodding to a table with chilled punch. The myrddraal sloly walked over to the table and let the tube fall from his hand making a clunk sound when it stuck the surface of the table. "You are dismised now."

The myrddraal slowly glides to the door, and once on the other side pulls it shut.

OOC: I apologise for not being a great writer and not being able to spell.

Turan

Valerios sat at his desk for a few more hours trying to find a way to halt the impending war between the other nations. Cursing to himself he got up and rang for his servant. When he came in he asked to invite the two Aes Sedai who were staying their as his advisors. Like the others in his family over the years he had decided to follow their excellent example and have a representative from both the men and women's towers advise him in the correct actions. Since the two towers were now in friendly competition instead of at each others throats it changed the tenor of the meetings but that also meant that if the two agreed on something, it was a good idea to follow their advice, if they did not agree, it meant take both ideas and find the middle ground to success. Nodding to himself in agreement to his plan he awaited them.

OOC: Would it be out of bounds to have one of your Aes Sedai a dark Aja, Darklord? I dont want to overstep my self....

Can't wait to see what happens next !

If it isn't a problem, I'll side with the Warriors of Shadow.
Please keep me informed.

The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills. It wasn't exactly a beginning but neither it was an ending .....

Valerios

Oc: I don't mind if you play one of the Aes Sedai in my camp as a Dark Ajah Asmodean.

Ic: As he waited for the two reps from the Sedai to appear he ran over in his mind the last few weeks reports looking for anything that could lead to a possible way to keep war from coming. So far nothing had occured to him so when the door open he sat up with intrest.

Chapter 1

The man who walked in the tunnel was all but all alone. Although of course he didn’t know it, someone was watching him. He welcomed the humidity and the darkness in the cavern as something godsend. Anything was better after 2 weeks in the desert with only a waterskin of water. As he walked deeper and deeper inside, he thought what brought him up to this point….
He was dreaming. He knew it because what he saw couldn’t be true.
On a rock he was standing by himself and all around him were his kinsmen, the Shaido sect, perhaps the most cruel sect of all Aiel. His hands were glowing with an eerie blue light and small lightings raced upon his shoulders down to his fingers.
Everyone watched him with hate and revulsion. Not because he had done any harm to them but because of what he was. They sneered at him and mocked him. They understood that the man in front of them was not someone ordinary. He could channel and because of that he was condemned. A young child approached him an looked him from head to toe with an inquiring look. Then he picked up a stone and with all his strength threw it at him. He felt a sharp pain and dizziness overcame. All around the people, his own kinsmen , laughed at him. He could bear it no long. Sudden hate threatened to overwhelm him and he raised his hands towards the sky and brought them down pointing at his people. Lighting arced around and through them and all of them fell whee they stood whilst they cursed him with their dying breath.
Suddenly he woke up and stood upright . He was drenched in sweat and felt very very tired. It was then that an overpowering odor entered his nostrils. It was a smell of charred flesh and burned leather. Fearing the worst he stormed out of his tent. What he saw made his knees buckle. There were bodies everywhere and all of them were most assuredly dead. Even the Gai shain with their white robes that slept apart from the other Aiel were sprawled on the ground as they tried to escape their tents that were still blazing with fire.
After that the only thing he remembered was pain, suffering and humiliation at the hands of the Wise ones and the Maidens. Finally they exiled him giving him only a waterskin as was the custom for those of male gender that could channel and cast him into the Blight.
After 2 weeks he stumbled upon a small rock outcropping and found a cave. He dragged himself in it and found some blessed shadow. The cave was big and it seemed to continue further by means of a tunnel. As he walked further in, he heard the sound of running water. Almost blindly and with new hope he ran until he felt something cool down his legs. He had stepped into a pond. He drank greedily for several minutes and after that he drank some more. Making his way backwards and off the pond he stumbled onto something. By touch alone he started to feel what was that he had stumbled. It appeared do be a skeleton and something beside it, a backpack! Rummaging it he found some personal possesion the poor guy had as well a torch and a pouch with flint and steel. Eagerly he striked the torch lit and looked at his surroundings. It was a huge cavern with a small pond in the middle but the most prominent thing was a set of double door engraved with ten seals made of cuendillar that had many unrecognisable runes………

That’s for start.

Oops! I thought that I would create a character from the beginning and so made this little prelude.
Of course I can always revert to Darklord's proposal and start over. Tell me what would be the best and I shall comply.

The Wheel turns and noone can stop it.....

OOC: sorry I have joined I completely forgot I joined this thread, I have been to busy.

IC: Avallyn stood on her blacony in her desert Palace located in the Scorched Sanctuary gazing out at the sky. Her gaze searched her kingdom as a dust storm theatened the horizon. Turning away she sat down at her desk going through some papers. It was rumored that Mather of the Tower of Ulrath was contemplating attacking the Aiel. It was unlikely but she was cautious none the less. Mather was a formidable opponent and worth taking precautions over. Leaning back in her chair she stared at the ceiling contemplating what she should do next.
