Wheel nuts

You should be asking these question on a car forum specific to your car's make and model. Not on the GB!

The cat told me this...

As far as I know, even if I bought sensors myself, I'd have to have them programmed. And not every tyre place can do it.

I don't know whether or not my existing sensors from the original wheels would work, as the new tyres are a different size altogether. Not sure about pressure.

So it's time to consult the mechanic.

Use the tire pressure that is recommended for the vehicle. That is what the computer is calibrated to

If the old sensors fit the new rims, they can probably be swapped over. Although if they don't have a lot of life left in them, probably better to just install new all around. There should be plenty of shops that can do this without having to take it to the dealer, which probably won't install non-dealer parts anyway. The local Costco has them here.

I'm lucky - no TPMS in any of my vehicles. The one that has stability management with the attendant lateral acceleration, rotational rate, and steering angle sensors can be turned off with the flick of a switch.

Sensors will most likely fit any rim. Car is new. TPMS sensors are basically at the valve where you fill your tyre.

At the moment the tyre pressure for new tyres is 36
Original tyres 33. I'm not sure old sensors would work with difference in pressure.

My tire guy says I need new rims because the chrome is peeling and they won't hold air. :)

Just over a year on and the wheels are schmick. A little bit of gutter rash which is to be expected with an amateur driver, but MAN they look good rolling. Happy with the purchase now, but what a fucking headache.

Give me Cragar SS rims any day of the week. Still by far my favourite wheels ❤️
