Icbf. Which means I can't be fucked. I'd like to turn the warning light off.
Tyres and wheels are brand new. Do I need to know the tyre pressure of each wheel on the screen? No. I haven't before on a car three times as powerful, so no.
It's just annoying.
If it's an easy-ish fix I'll fix it. Otherwise meh
have a nerd friend make you a circuit board that transmits the proper signal to your car that says your tire pressure is fine and install it. He can use an existing sensor for the circuitry and add whatever it takes to "adjust" the input so the transmitter output says that there's 25 lbs minimum air pressure.
Sigh.
My car has a TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system. I call it PMS because it pretty much has the same effects on my hormones.
Tyre pressure monitoring system. It basically tells you how much air is in your tyres, give or take.
Did I think about that when I bought new wheels? No.
So now I have a permanent warning sign saying check your PMS.
It's giving me PMS just thinking about it.
Yeah, there's a good idea.
Maybe he could also make a little nuclear reactor out of spittle and tissue.
Find out which fuse it's on and pull it. Providing it's the only thing on that fuse, obvs.
LOL. Once again Tim pontificates about stuff when he hasn't got a clue. Firstly, traction control has fuck all to do with the tyre pressure sensors. Secondly, tyre pressure warning systems aren't govt mandated.Oh my fucking gawd! THIS has got to be THE most stupid fucked up thing you've ever said. Bar none.
As an ABSOLUTELY LAST RESORT reach under the dash and remove the damn TPSI warning lightbulb before you remove a fuse from the circuitry. It doesn't stop the computer from warning you that the tyre pressure is low, you just don't see it anymore, but it doesn't cut the power to the active traction control system and any other circuits on that fuse.
The car is fucking computer controlled, pulling fuses is GODDAMNED FUCKING STUPID. Telling someone else, who has no clue what they're doing, to do it can get them killed and it'll be YOUR fault.
Take the car to the tyre shoppe and ask them to fix the problem. It could be simple, or low cost. At worst, you can have someone make a sensor circuit for you.
OTOH, recommending that someone voluntarily disable a government mandated safety system just to get rid of a warning light...![]()
When warning lights come on in my truck I take the bulb out or use electrical tape to blend nicely with the color of the dash.![]()
Well, that's a fucking annoying safety feature that requires 2 pieces of tape.
Range Rovers are nice.
I may be way off base but don't they have something to do with Jaguars?![]()
Aren't they an Indian company?
Do they still manufacture them in Britain?
LOL. Once again Tim pontificates about stuff when he hasn't got a clue. Firstly, traction control has fuck all to do with the tyre pressure sensors. Secondly, tyre pressure warning systems aren't govt mandated.
Thirdly, you're a dickhead.
Is TPMS mandatory? If so, when was it declared a standard safety feature?
The TREAD (Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability and Documentation) Act was signed into United States Federal Law in the fall of 2000 and requires all vehicles manufactured on or after September 1, 2007 to be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.
In the United States, TPMS is mandatory for all vehicles produced after September 2007.
In the European Union, TPMS is mandatory for all new passenger vehicles released after November 1, 2012. From November 1, 2014, all new passenger vehicles sold in the European Union must be equipped with TPMS.
Which part of the US or Eu is Australia in, Tim?dudly, stop being a douchecanoe and SHUT the FUCK UP before you get someone killed or in trouble.
TPMS is mandated by the government. Even YOUR fucked up government mandated it in 2012.
TPMS Direct
That alone ought to tell everyone to stop listening to EVERY DAM THING you EVER have to say.
Traction control is there to help the driver keep control of the vehicle under BOTH poor traction situations AND for stability control. One of the sensors for stability control is tire pressure. Another is G-force. This is why traction control doesn't work when you smoke the tires in a straight line and only slows a spinning wheel when you're going around corners.
Which part of the US or Eu is Australia in, Tim?
G force sensors for traction control? Are you on fucking drugs? Traction control measures one wheel spinning faster than the other on the same axle, you moron.
I know you can't help being an asshole, but this is all you got? Seriously?
Traction control isn't there to keep you from burning rubber. It's there to HELP VEHICLE STABILITY. It's also why there's an accelerometer in the car - to measure G force as part of the vehicle stability system which INCLUDES traction control. Part of traction control is monitoring ALL systems which involve traction. Traction affecting things like wheel speed, G force, engine RPM's, gear selection, and TYRE PRESSURE.
The next-to-best part of your reply is how you fucked up about how Aus isn't in the EU or the US. You'll note, I hope, that I didn't say it was in my post. YOU reading things into my words doesn't mean I said them. It means you're a douchecanoe who can't comprehend what he's reading.
.
that is lower that whale shit
Dude.
As a basic "fix", the tyre shoppe should be able to fit new sensors
