Thank to everyone who submitted, I know forms are a challenge to some of us.

As cascadiabound is on the West side of NA, her submission made it in under the timeline, which makes Harry the penultimate contributor. Accordingly he gets to decide where the next challenge goes.
..
As the title implies gentle poets, create a picture/image, visual or metaphorical of something that catches or holds your attention.

Hi Harry ~

Could you please specify the end of this challenge and the basis upon which the next OP will be chosen?

I hope you are feeling all better. :rose:

Harry, could you narrow down the scope of your request? As it is now, I feel that over 80% of poems are (or should be :)) covered by it.

They do indeed

The words I love you
can never be enough,
when I want to paint
through the tallest treetops
autumn leaves ablaze,
write across the sky
with fireworks.

Yet whisper,
so only you can hear.

Here is a gentle suggestion of a gentle modification. Instead of or, let there be AND, e.g.

create a picture/image that catches or holds your attention,
an image which is at the same time both. visual and metaphorical.

Hm, this would cut the range from 80% to 60%. Oh, well...

So basically

Make a pome

Got it

:D

the way i interpret the notion of 'snapshot' is something brief that recreates an entire image of a moment in time, and is strengthened by emotional resonances they may engender in the reader. for me, H's poem does exactly that. :)

top-hatting a silver cane
aged bamboo canted
and sunk knee-deep
in a gaggle of young strawberries

Coffee Break

Heron slides between the trees,
vehicle speeds past down the road,
Fucker.

Broken lotus beside dressed row,
bow, divot, plant, water,
slide down, another tray from the dwindling flat.

Here's Ku. There's more to do.
Two finish what one started.
Run down the road. Run back.
Rain tomorrow' imagine that.
Down time.

slender brown rat
swift death
peanut butter still
on his tongue

red and white fur flies
past my legs into the thicket
gone after a cat or rabbit
thrashing in the brush
white tipped tail a brief flag
no turning back now
driven by prey instinct

I do not know if this meets the challenge criteria or not?

The calm spreads like light
on our glistening sea,
blue hardly perturbed.

Almost merry my relief
that sinks on the shore,
fizzy as a sigh there,
the breath of tide
Inhaled anew.
