it was okay.
...
Did I miss something?

I take it Wolfy thought it was great?

You forgot to take your sense of wonder out of you safety diposit box I think. Just from the clips I've seen, and the little I know about the books, You would have neded that sense of wonder to really appreciate this movie.

Naw Wolfy felt the same

:p

Who is Harry Potter?

I have read the first two books and thought them ok.
But the movie doesn’t excite me at all. Don't want to see it.

I want this fuss to get over – and to get to the real thing: The Lord Of The Rings. Now that’s a story. I hope, they don’t mess it up or throw too much “love story” in it.

And: This is not a kiddie-movie!

Any mom who gets in there with her 6 year old child just because there are dwarfs and other cute (!!?) people in the advertisement should be sent home immediately! ;)

I liked it. Although, as most Harry Potter fans will tell ya, "Sorcerer's Stone" is lame in comparison with the sequals,(sp?)

Although, I admit, your right about Lord Of The Rings.

I hated that movie. Although I may have been somewhat biased. I was sitting in the front row, against the left wall, so I got a crick in my neck. And the lady I took to the movie with me brought another guy and spent the whole time talking with him and ignoring me, so in essence I payed for someone else's date. So, yeah, it wasn't exactly a spectacular experience for me.

What? Me? Bitter? Nahhh.. *Twitch twitch*

OOOOOhhhhhh....I thought you wrote, "Hairy Putter!" Whew, I was concerned. Oh, that movie all the lemmings are jumping to see, didn't see it, probably won't. I'll rent , "Sword in the Stone" or "Dragonheart". Both give me enough fantasy entertainment without going into debt. Then, of course, there's the new Star Wars coming soon! :D

I saw it and the one thing that made it wonderful for me,was the fact my son,the non reader now wants to read the stories.

Hey love, how old is your son? I can reccomend you a whole boatload of books I bet he'd like.

Just a quick note on LOTR..its been kept as close to the books as possible. Even down to the most minute detail...like they employed a true Alchemist Armour Creator....they had proper language coaches for the actors to learn Elvish...and most importanly (and not without any bias)..the scenery will be some of the most wild and stunning you have ever seen in your life.

He is 8 and my only son,so any suggestions would be lovely. Now girl books I have covered...lol ;)

Can confirm the LOTR will blow JRRT's fans and newbies away, the sheer scale of the production was the most gruelling I have ever worked on and Draco - no bias needed NZ is stunning and the women were nice too!!

Kind words indeed...what part did you have in the movie?
In front of camera..or behind it?

I have just read the trilogy from cover to cover (first time..shame on me for not doing it sooner)

Hmm... That's tough, when I was 8 I hated to read too. My first real books were Hawell's Moving Castle ( I can't remember the author, but it's a good read) and The Belgariad by David Eddings, I'm not sure if he'd be ready for that yet (It's five books, and then there's another series that comes after it that's another five books, with two more books after that). It's tough to find good books for kids, because if you ever read kids' books, a lot of it is total trash that is as mind rotting as most kids' television is.... Bruce Coville is good, especially Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher and My Teacher is an Alien, he'll get a kick out of the Alien series. Also, R. L. Stine's earlier books were all pretty good.

Both really, mainly with the Weta Workshop doing fun effects etc but also bitted as an Orc and Dark Rider...

Seatoun was a stunning place...

Awesome...you lucky bugger....!!
did you get down to Queenstown?

If you think Wellinton (yawn) was great..the South Island is just mind-bendingly spectacular.

I'll be in the Premier-Premier 18th - 19th December - midnight!!

Thanks, draco!
For me, this is The Book of the books - I would love to see the film go for it, too. But I keep my expectations low - just to be sure - (although there are so many thrilling news about the project) so I can't be too dissapointed... ;-))

harry potter.....

i went to see that movie and i thought it was pretty cool. i really liked it. I don't like movies that have alot of super special effects and all that crap. i guess i can relate to harry, i mean i felt sorry for him, and then all of a sudden he is a cool wizard who can fly on a broom. I guess i am kinda jelous. i always have dreams of being able to do cool stuff like that and movies like that catch my attention. i also like the dungeons and dragons movie.

Draco

should like the Harry Potter movie--he's one of the characters! (Smarmy little bugger, tho')
Thought the film was brilliant, books were good too. Can't wait to see Weasley's 105E fly in the next one (always had a soft spot for that old banger). Wonder which of them is gonna wind up with Hermione--Harry or Ron?
