I would be very interested in hearing where everyone likes to travel to if and when they get to go away and what is so good about it.

Any horror stories also gratefully received.

I am hopefully off to Toronto this summer Niagra Falls and all that jazz.... that's after the bungee jump and learning to drive legally....

one of the best vacations I have taken was to Grand Bahama Island....

had a direct flight, and we went in february while it was still snowy....what a pleasure to step on a plane and its 20 degrees you step off and its 80!

it was a little piece of heaven

it had a full service casino too!

Since I've moved to the left, I enjoy going to Vegas on a whim.

As for planning and taking vacation time? I visit my parents and friends back east. But I did go to the Canary Islands last year, after buttering up the powers that be to let me use my vacation days.

My sweetie and I go to Ireland once a year. There is a little cottage on the West coast, Connamara in a town called Ardnagreevagh that we rent regularly. It is so peaceful, right on a rocky cliff that leads down to a sandy beach and in our front yard is Rinvyle Castle, a ruined tower that pirate queen Grace O'Mally's tower. It is not expensive at all. Only about $300 a week.

Bologna

Just had a short break in Bologna - what a beautiful city - recommend it to anyone - lots to see and do but without the hordes of tourists found in other Italian cities.

grand bahama is the better part of the deal......Paradise Island is nice and all, but you will end up paying almost 3 times the cost.

If you do go to the bahamas make sure you get a meal plan...the on I had was 150 dollars , included 2 meals a day and UNLIMITED
BOOZE!

Aloha! Hawaii. Though I haven't been to the more beautiful islands, yet. I got to spend 8 glorious days on the island of Oahu. Basking on Waikiki Beach. I tried parasailing for my first time, it was a blast. Spent an entire day at the North Shore watching all the great surfers. Watched the cliff divers at Waimea Falls. Went snorkling in Hunama Bay. Was embraced by sadness when I went and toured the Arizona Memorial. Oh, and the night life. The Pink Cadilac night club, some wild times there. And, to end the trip went out on an all night party cruise. Was by far the best vacation I have had yet!

I hope one day to travel to the Greek Isles. That is my dream vacation.

Greece sounds great, but once the political climate calms down...I am hoping to go to Egypt;)

Eilat is supposed to be lovely - especially if you scuba dive which I do but I would be very wary of going to Israel right now

Costa Rica, hands down. No competition at all. I can get culture anywhere. Costa Rica has to be experienced.

Even if they declared peace today, I would be vary wary of heading to Israel...I would give em at least 2 years to see if they all play nice

I hate you

Not really, just incredibly jealous. My mum has a caravan in Kilkee is West Clare, but I've never been there.

But to answer the question: while I've been many places once, and would like to return to some of them again, and the list of places I need to go to grows all the time (no small thanks to the folks at Lit), I still like the [New] Jersey Shore. 169 miles of beaches of all description. Cities: Québec, PQ, is a perenial favorite. European, without the time change.

My choice would be your arms. Where are they by the way? I tried to get plane tickets to "Your Arms" but there was no listing for the nearest airport. Durnit!

Dawn - I live in Oxford (well just outside actually) in the UK.

I am, however, on my way to Florida next month which is somewhat closer to Georgia than is England.

I remember, I think I may need to plan a trip.

Sun or Snow

I luv Panama City & Key West, Florida. Both places are very OPEN and fun-filled. Lots of opportunities for sexual adventures.

I also luv the Colorado Rockies.

My most favorite place of all is ALASKA! It is untammed! Just like me!!!
