for making yourself feel better? I did one of mine today. Got on my bike and went out on a 6 mile stretch of straight road and opened all the way up...always does the trick for me...speed, motion, wind, roaring motor and a little bit of adrenlin always clears my heads. Always works...What do you do?
 
Getting away from everyone and losing myself in a good book, or a favorite cd.
 
Loud music, windows down, speeding down the highway singing at the top of my lungs.


Oh, the radar detector helps keep the day from getting even worse.

I drown myself in a historical romance novel and if it has been REALLY bad I clean like a maniac.

Sex makes me feel better. But that requires another person participating - well, doesn't require it actually but I find it works better that way.

Other than that. Excercise. For me its not bike riding but running or working out with weights. I think that doing something physical over-rides any intellectual or emotional problems. Like you said, it clears the head.
 
I drive out in the open countryside far away from the city. It makes me feel able to breathe again.
 
my trick

I ride my bike 4 to 6 miles.
I masturbate.
I listen to some loud rock-n-roll!
 
I sing. Old show tunes, 30's and 40's standards mostly. It makes me feel great and if I do it loudly it has the added advantage of annoying the shit out of everyone around me. So it doubles as a tool of revenge. :D
 
I cry, if I can. I sit down and scream and sob and shake all over.

Then I calm down, and clean. Sing while I'm at it.
 
I usually call one of my friends long-distance and gossip. They can usually make me feel 100% better.
 
Long walk in the park. Wind rustling through trees and grass. Complete silence--gets me high every time.
 
The other thing that always works is a walk in the woods...The best is during a snow storm...
 
My relief? Well, it would have to be nature. In any way, shape or form. If I'm in it, my life seems so much better. Whether it be by climbing a tree, (I especially miss the one in the yard back home) jumping in a creek, or just laying in the grass. I can just feel all of my stress and anxieties just drift away. It really centers me. Hmm, I think it's time for a swim now actually. (The best are naked by moonlight.)

My work truck has a big block and flowmaster exhaust, when i'm blue, there is nothing like an open lane on the freeway and a wide open throttle.....Bob Seger on the CD..roll me away.....
