alright, im somewhat a newbie, so ive always had this question: please explain the differences between:

MMF
MFM
FMM

is there any or is it just semantics?

I think it's largely semantics, but I have seen it used to indicate a level of interest in bi contact - i.e. MFM is pretty much a straight threesome, where as MMF indicates there is or will be bi contact between the two males.

Same distinction for FMF or FFM - but again, I don't think this kind of usage is very common.

of course, there's also mFM or fMF as they are used in story codes, in this case to indicate that one of the participants is not an adult.
