I am taking this test, and it's completely absurd. It lacks a reason as to why you would or wouldn't favor a bill.

In comparison, I could end up with a PQ the same as Eric Cantor, but my reason for not supporting a bill would be much different.

Here’s your PQ: 83.1

Politicians with similar PQs are:

Joe Lieberman (Ind.-Ct., 2005-09) PQ=74.0
Joe Lieberman (D-Ct., 1989-2004) PQ=74.7
Harry Reid (D-Nev., 1983-2009) PQ=75.6
Joe Biden (D-Del., 1973-2008) PQ=80.5
Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y., 2001-06) PQ=87.6
Barack Obama (D-Ill., 2005-06) PQ=87.7
Ted Kennedy (D-Mass., 1963-2007) PQ=89.2

i think that means i'm left wing or something, i dunno.

That's a problem I ran into as well. That's also the reason that you have to look a little closer when one side or the other is screaming "But, but, but, he voted against children's dental health!!!"

Still, it beats the ones that tell everyone they're Libertarians no matter what they actually think. This one could conceivably give some insight about which political party you most often agree with.

Shocking!

You only got those results because Che Guevara and Karl Marx weren't in the dataset.

To be honest, there were a couple of Bills I wouldn't have supported because they didn't go far enough, but, the art of the possible...

Yeah, I had the same issue, but I doubt it was in the same direction.

But we look nothing alike ;)

Actually, while I am, at best, under-informed politically, I always considered myself more of a liberal. But, as with most things, I don't believe in black and white divisions, so I guess it's not a surprise that I can go either way :)

most i would have supported, some i didn't know since i'm not really up enough on (american) politics to make an informed decision. still, i gave an honest reply.

i didn't like the way it told us how each party had voted before we cast our own vote. that was a bit unnecessary, and leading.

The test is complete bullshit using only the democrat's main policies from 2009 onward as the question base, but also telling you how the parties split the vote.

I went through without reading questions and simply "favoured" all legislation. Why read it, we can find out what it meant later?

Let's fix it. What do you--and anyone else--think are good touchstone questions?

I can't get through it.

Bottom line, we elected them.

How embarrassing is that?

Go through the various bills of the last decade, not merely the two years of a full democratic congress, when they were running roughshod over the entire process.

The ones about the procedural changes and machinations used to get the health care package are telling of basic political thought process - "any means".

Pull up 40 bills and 20 procedural motions. Pull up another 20 regulations and pull up 10 legal decisions.

Don't lay out the results in the question. (democrats love this, republicans hate it)

Mix up the response order - in this test, if you click box A, you come out as Pelosi, if you click bottom you come out as DeMint.

^ That's the deal.

And they can't even keep their shit straight.

Any real American would want to torch the place.
