I've been lurking for quite some time & only recently began posting on AH. I originally started reading various threads here because a) I've always been fascinated by authors & b) none of the other forums were very interesting. I am a voracious reader and always have been. I have never had any talent for writing, though, and am in constant awe of those who do.

I'm curious to know whether all of you care who posts on your forum. I was first moved to post on a thread a few days ago & I have felt vaguely guilty with each subsequent post since I am absolutely NOT an author. I am, however, neurotic (obviously) so I figured I would just try a poll rather than continue to wonder about such an inane topic.

Minsue, there's room in the forum for two non-authors. You, me, now we have to keep the others out.

I justify my presence here by the fact that I'm their patron saint.

At least I'm in good company!

Hmmm...I'll just have to come up with a good excuse then. :D

Minsue, I am sorry I do not recognize you, but I go by what a person says, and how they say it is all. I lurked for a while because I didn't know if I was "an author" or not, per Lit. and AH standards. Now I feel quite at home here and have discovered there are very little standards. In fact sometimes I wish there were some, haha.

I do believe ella has been a real blessing, I love her support and camaraderie, and how wonderfully, humourously and wittily she expresses herself.

Thanks for asking. regards,

Perdita

I don't think most of us mind.

Some people here are Lit authors, some are non-Lit authors, some are published, some are non-published, some are non-authors all together and some are just critics, editors and so forth.

Welcome to the AH.:rose:

Now you have made me smile:D

thanks Perdita, its a good thing I wasn't drinking a Coke.

There are many real world authors that lurk and post here without having submitting erotic stories to the site.

Their input and contributions are very welcome, in my humble opinion.

For a long time I posted only in the feedback thread. I thought this thread was for published authors and the SDC was for an elite group of writers.

Simply put your right to post in an open forum is just as strong as mine. You won't be judged by your writing here, but by the quality of what you have to say. Don't worry about anyone holding your non writing status against you. Most of the people here are just awesome and as open and accepting of people as any group I have ever been around.

Post and be happy :)

How did you find out, PManx? I've worked so hard to hide my true identity.

Ann Coulter
Author of "Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism"

:nana:

P.S. Even if Perdita had never authored a single story, her excellent taste in co-posters would be a necessary enhancement to AH.

more people shoukd probaby hang out here *before* they post any stories.

I know that I sometimes wish I had.

With this group I bet it was some beatification ceremony. Have you been able to walk a straight line since?:D

As for Minsue's question, guilt is not something the average erotica writer tolerates very well. Given our chosen genre, making the AH exclusive would seem comicly pompous. Go for it gal. Have a good time.:p

I've been posting here since forever and only submitted my first story 20 days ago. No one ever threatened to kick me out. :D

I know, but I can't help it. I was raised by Irish-Catholic parents & somehow the guilt is the only thing that stuck.

To all: Thanks for the replies!:rose: I suppose I won't crawl back under my rock after all.

It's because you've hypnotized us all with your extraordinary poetry.

Tease.

Minsue,

The AH is suppose to be so author and non author can communicate.

Then there are the few like me! Not sure I am tollerated, but there has not been a thread to beg me to leave yet either.

Honey, you have no idea.

Forget the straight line, I couldn't walk at all for several hours.

Minsue,

Even if you have a story or more posted here, that doesn't mean you are a writer. :D
[ducking and running out as fast as I can]

Welcome and enjoy yourself.

It's disgusting, non-authors have no business at all posting to this particular forum. We are all some-day professionals, with obvious exceptions, and as such do not need input from people who've never posted a smutty story. Your views are both uninformed and obviously unintelligent and can only serve to foment dissent in intellectual arguement and drive wedges in between firm friendships. It's all wrong.

Gauche

P.S Please note no smilies in the above, so it wasn't sarcasm or anything, I meant every word.

Edited to ask she; If you are Ann Coulter, what the hell are you doing here?

If we sould go with the original "guidelines" on the forum index page, this forum is for this:

Have a question for the author of your favorite story? Need some help writing your own story? Ask in here.

Shold apply to us all. As long as we yap about Author and Authoring realted stuff and other stuff that might inspire Authoring now and then, then what the heck.

AH - Author's Hangout. It's where lit authors (And others) come to, well.. hang out.

But trust me, it sure ain't an exclusive club. What fun would that be?

The AH is where you'll find the authors. But it sure isn't where you'll find *only* authors :)

From me, welcome to the AH
