What's your GNP?

I did some work at a meat processing plant many years ago. All the shit they dont package as fresh meat gets tossed into a cart and dumped in a large meat pulverizer. All the innards get made into potted meat, hot dogs, sausage, etc. They even record the moo and the oink on CD.

Anyone looking to control the appetite in order to lose weight should read through this thread. Blech.

I'm certain that if the government truly wanted everyone to be thin they'd pass a law that supermarkets can only sell LIVER, BRUSSEL-SPROUTS, PICKLED BEETS, and RUTABAGAS.

These nutrients also make a wonderful punishment for miscreant children.

Scotland - Haggis

Something about taking the organs of a sheep, stuffing them inside the stomach, and boiling it is just...ew.

Noo see here, lassie, ye cannae say thon.

Haggis is the most delectable of delicacies. I mean, pickled herring, whether Scots or Swedish or even Icelandic, is a dish fit for a king; but haggis, for Gods. Until you've actually tried it, don't knock it. Filling, sustaining, packed with flavour and goodness. Ye cannae beat it.

And while we're on this subject, Ogg mentioned the cornish pastie. Which, indeed, well and freshly made, is a very fine meal. The Forfar Bridie is similar. But I know one or two wee bakeries about the bit which bake a haggis pastie, and let me tell you that is as fine food as you'll find anywhere.

Ye Pow'rs wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o' fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies;
But, if ye wish her gratefu' prayer,
Gie her a haggis!

Well, not quite. These days it's minced spiced mutton/lamb inside something else and boiled slowly. It's bit like kebab.

You're going to the wrong butcher. The liver and lights (lungs), heart and optionally kidneys of a sheep, minced, spiced and mixed with oatmeal and onion, and packed into the well washed stomach.

Ye cannae beat it.

Kebab? No, sir.

Now, if you want really horrible food from Scotland, can I recommend Deep Fried Mars Bar.
