There is a deli in New York, in one of the worst areas, it is called Katz's Deli, and they make a Pastrami on Rye bread with Russian dressing that is so huge it could be a meal for 2 people for lunch and dinner.

They make the Pastrami right there, and keep it hot in these huge steam cabinets. When you order one, a guy slices it by hand, and piles it on, and if you tip him beforehand, the sandwich gets even bigger.

My father took me there as a kid, and I have taken my children, if you remember the movie "When Harry met Sally", it is the place where she fakes the orgasm.

With my bad heart, it is not a pleasure that I can have often, but I live just close enough to indulge every once in a while.

I just can't decide. I love food.
I'm even unable to decide between sweet and salty. Though the mousse au chocolat my dad makes must be pretty close to the top of the list.
I'm a spoiled brat when it comes to food though. My dad likes to cook fancy stuff, my mom and grandma do the everyday German foods really well. And S's mom cooks even fancier than my dad. She has more time and more money.
I hate raisins and marzipan and don't like fungi too much.

I absolutely love tangerines. I like to eat them really really slowly, I think it annoys people I'm with sometimes to watch me eat them. I like to peel them perfectly, get all the white stuff off if I can, and then peel the skin of the individual slices. Then I like to eat each tiny little juice-filled packet (forgive me for not knowing the technical terms for my favorite piece of fruit) one by one, either licking them off the section or pulling them off with my fingers. It gives me a great pleasure.

When I was in Italy I ate tons of tangerines that I picked up in the little grocery stores. They were absolutely delicious. I practically survived on them.

A poor experience I had, again in Italy, is a good example of how stupid I am... since I wasn't 21 yet and am pretty much a "good girl" I hadn't had any experience drinking. My boyfriend picked up a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream from a store, along with tons of tangerines, and brought them back to our room... I ate all those tangerines, and drank Irish Cream... which curdled in my stomach and made for the worst vomiting experience of my life. Whee.

But I still like them.

Get a hotdog at Katz's, if you haven't. Don't know what it is about them, they may be laced with crack they are so good.

pre nothing-fun diet, my favorite cuisine was Indian -- favorite dish was lamb korma. It's cubed lamb cooked in cream with almonds and what's got to be tons of sugar, and cardamom and fenugreek and probably rosewater and who knows, this over basmati rice.

now on the nothing-fun diet, I find a new appreciation for fruit whenever it's really in season and good. I'm lucky I can eat tons of it with most kinds of cheese, just discovered a fantastic basque cheese called "ossau-iraty" which tastes I swear, just like warm baguette (which I can't have!)

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, spirals or three cheese shells. Also, a nice cheesesteak on an amoroso roll with some whiz and some fried onions....only in Philly.

I make a milk chocolate mousse that's combined in spoonfuls with a white chocolate mousse and then coated with crushed toffee almonds

My favorite food is cold cereal, second only to hot cereal (there are 6 boxes of cold to choose from & 3 boxes of the hot variety in our cupboard at present) ... and in this house, i inhale the stuff quickly .. only getting 3 servings on average from a 15 ounce box.

It doesn't matter which kind. Although, given a few dozen to choose from and depending on my mood at the time:

COLD:
#1 choice: Strawberry Special
#2 choice: Lucky Charms
#3 choice: It's a tie between Frosted Mini Wheats & Captain CrunchBerry
... and in this house, it's NOT the kids who are devouring the stuff. i use big bowls and often go back for seconds ... sometimes even thirds.. only getting about 3 servings on average from a 15 ounce box.

HOT:
#1 Maypo
#2 Cream of Wheat
#3 oatmeal

Deep fried Mars Bars (not sure you have Mars bars in USA or other countries, but they are size, shape as snickers but no nuts in them).

Dip them in batter and deep fry, eat hot, as you slice it the chocolate runs out all gooey and sticky.

THAT is heaven :D

Edit to add: A query, is Andante a food? I like to eat him

Hot chicken wings with a couple bottles of Miller Classic.
Dessert would have to be Creme Brulee, but not at the same meal.

(Recidiva...mmm that sounds yummy!)

Not enough.

Is this a multiple orgasm of firsts, or engulfed fruit?

There are no words to describe the awesomeness of chocolate covered cherries. They just totally eclipse any other food.

Mmm, I love food! My favorite changes constantly but right now it would be Red Beans and Rice, which I soooo wanted to get last week at Pat O's but I was thwarted. There are a lot of ways to make Red Beans and Rice but the way I want 'em is traditional New Orleans Monday washday style, slow cooked with andouille sausage which I won't be eating.

I also wanted to get some yummy beignets and cafe au lait. *le sigh*

Fury :rose:

It's all pink inside dear.

Yeah, but one has CHOCOLATE. I mean if it was one of those choco taco's that'd be different . . .

I blame it on my sister. She was chattering in my ear.

And that's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL

Holy shit, I thought only midwestern americans ate shit like this! Live and learn.

On the sweet side -- cheesecake -- all different kinds .. so far the Cheesecake Factory seems to make some of the best.

On the not sweet side -- the perfect cut of steak -- rare, bloody, juicy, and warm.

I take you mean that eating deep fried mars bars is shit, not eating Andante.

Then again I am not sure you do mean that.........

Come and visit and I will introduce to every fattening food Britain has to offer.

I know you are on a resticted diet Netz, but trust me, its the one time you would be glad you can't eat whats in front of you LOL
