Ok Bobtoad started the "What's your favorite cartoon and why" And now I'm wondering what's your favorite comic strip.

I myself have several I like.

My all time favorite is an strip from New Zealand called:

Footrot Flats
That serie is excelent in my opinion!!

and then there is:

Betty

Beetle Bailey

Dagwood, That man knows how to eat

Dilbert, isn't there a little dilbert in all of us.

and the entire Archie gang, Veronica, Betty, Jughead, Reggie, Dilton, Moose, Midge and the rest.

I like Dilbert. When I worked at J.P. Morgan, it seemed like everyone below the rank of Vice President had at least one Dilbert cartoon on display. In fact, that's how I knew it was time to leave JPM: I was reading Dilbert every day and saying, "Oh my god, that's me!"

I also like Mutts. It's funny, but it's also warm and touching. The antics of Earl and Mooch and Shtinky Puddin really make me smile.

Dilbert because all too often I saw my company reflected in it and knew that I wasn't alone.

Foxtrot because it helps ease some of the pain caused by the loss of Calvin and Hobbes....where have you gone Bill Watterson? <sniffsniff>

Dilbert

and i feel your pain, MOS.. Calvin and Hobbes was one of me fav's, too... i miss Spaceman Spiff.... :(

Bloom County beyond question. I loved all of em, I dearly miss them.

Bill and Opus in 2004!

My all time favorite is "The Far Side" by Gary Larsen, a man with a truly bizarre and wonderful sense of humor and one of the first people to be able to show me that, yes, we dweebs can be funny.

My life has never been the same.

Baby Blues & Cathy for daily strips. (some days too close to home)
X-Men for the mags. (I'm waaayyy behind tho')

KM and Clozoff

"Bloom County" and "Far Side" absolutely the two greatest-

Vlad

Calvin and Hobbes for sure,,,

The Sunday edition of Garfield is a close second though

The Far Side

"All units prepare to move in!.... He's givin' him the duck now!"

"Mom! Dad!.... The nose fairy left me a whole quarter!"

Dinosaur cranial capacity.

Obscene duck call.

"Fellow octopi, or octopuses...octopi?... Dang, it's hard to start a speech with this crowd."

Gary Larson, won't you please come home !!!!

Ditto. And I also love "Dilbert" but I recognize far too many people I work with in it every day.

"Andy Capp" because it makes me laugh.

"Hi & Lois" because it reminds me so much of life with kids.
