Whats your favorite Ballad

Do NOT tell the StudMuffin.

I find George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today" rather fascinating. Mostly because I can't understand a man loving a woman anywhere near THAT much.

However, Fade To Black and One (Specially the Starcraft Mix) will always be my favorites. Right after For Whom the Bell Tolls. All by Metallica. Oh shush.

Like "Where Have all the Flowers Gone?"

Oh Sammi, I LOVE that song!!!! Though I was an 80s kid, I still grew up hearing the best music of the 60s and 70s! That song is very dear to me. I had the privilege of singing it at a recital/concert my Jr. year in HS.

Okay I think this says something about me, but not sure I want to know what.

Banana Republic - Steve Goodman
Mr. Bojangles - Jerry Jeff Walker
City of New Orleans - Arlo Guthrie

I think I better go dig out my hippie beads and faded tiedyes, original please, and light some incense.

Tears in Heaven-Clapton

Hasn't anyone seen the Cinderella w/ Drew Barrymore in it?!?!?!? :(

Drew Barrymore is sexy as hell but god shes got huge feet. Aren't she and Tom Green a thing .... huge feet and terrible taste.

Now that we're on the Eagles... Desperado.

Also (not Eagles) "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now"- Starship.

I don't suppose that could be the same "It Can't Rain All The Time" that Eric Draven sang in the first The Crow?

No one was ever better at stirring the emotions than Harry Chapin. If there are any doubts about this, check out his bittersweet ode to his daughter, Tangled Up Puppet. However, if pressed, I would cast my vote for either Taxi or A Better Place To Be. Both are pretty long-assed ballads, it's true, but in my opinion there's never been a better song written about the loneliness and longing of the human heart than A Better Place To Be.

After thinking about it for a little while, I also added the following (by no means, an exhaustive list). These are in no particular order and some of these will be more familiar than others.

Anything by Bread (David Gates, where are you now?)
Elton John:
(Old) Tiny Dancer, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
(New) The One
The Moody Blues: Tuesday Afternoon, Nights In White Satin
Richard Marx: Hold On To The Nights
Jackson Browne: Here Come Those Tears Again
Billy Joel: Honesty
Steve Winwood: Higher Love
Simon and Garfunkel: The Sounds Of Silence, America, Bridge Over Troubled Water
Paul Simon: Something So Right, Still Crazy After All These Years
The Beatles - Too many to list, so I'll settle on two: Something, Hey Jude
John Lennon: Imagine
Steely Dan: Rikki Don't Lose That Number, Babylon Sisters
Harry Nilsson: Without You, Remember (Christmas)
Anita Baker: Caught Up In The Rapture
Sinead O'Connor: Nothing Compares 2U
Sting: If I Ever Lose My Faith In You, Fields Of Gold
Eric Clapton: Layla (unplugged), Tears In Heaven
Bruce Springsteen: One Step Up
Bonnie Raitt: Love Letter
SuperTramp: Give A Little Bit
Amy Grant: Baby Baby, That's What Love Is For

As I mentioned, the list could go on (I haven't really touched the 60's) but BT, I hope this gives you some ideas.
