What's With Today's Girly Magazines?

What's with today's girly magazines that feature photo layouts of women whose privates are strategically covered? Even tradional mens magazines like Playboy are wimping out and changing their format to MAXUM and STUFF by hiding the good parts. I remember when mens magazines were actually aimed at mens enjoyment and not feminized eunichs. It is my contention that mens magazines that feature revealing photos of uninhibited beautiful women are going the way of the dodo bird. Am I alone on this?

Actually, I took a look at Penthouse a couple of months ago for the first time in maybe 10 years, and I noticed that they were showing actual penetration, which I don't think they ever used to do. Cock full in Mouth and deep in Vagina. I knew they were having trouble competing with the Internet, and figured that was why.

Could it have something to do with the rise in celebrity photo shoots for said magazines? Maybe they think the draw of a film goddess is worth her not being willing to show herself completely naked.

Just a thought.

Playboy does have really great articles by the way.

Playboy's still around, which is sad, because they haven't changed their format in the nearly 50 years it's been here.

Take a look at the Marilyn Monroe issue (1956, I believe) and then fast forward to 1998 or 1999 in the Cindy Crawford issue. Different technique, different setting, different photographer, same amount of flesh shown.

If I pay good money for a girly mag I want to see the whole enchilada. Not out of focus. Not with clothing over it. Just give me what I want to see and I will be happy to pay you again next month.

I would say this is to their credit, not detriment, actually.

I mean, look what happened to New Coke...

Here's the idea, though...

Let's say you have a magazine or video that you look at. It arouses you, you get off, you feel good.

Now the next time you look at it, it won't be quite as effective. Sure, you still get off, but it takes a while.

Continue looking at the same material for the next 50 years, and it does absolutely nothing.

Once the novelty wears off, you're ready to move on.

"Wow! Naked women!"

New coke sucked ... and I need to pick up a Penthouse

if you're wanting purely jack-off material, go with Penthouse or Club or some other mag like that. basically pictures out of pornos.

if you want to see great pictures of absolutly beautiful women done by professional photographers and then read interesting articles, Playboy will never let you down. the pictures are very nice artistically, the layouts are great, and it has this whole feeling of "quality" rather than "wham, bam, thank you cunt" that most of the others i've seen have.

I have to agree...

Penthouse is a very good mag to check out. The pics are graphic and beautiful. Playboy can't touch them.

Bye Ya'll

I've had subscriptions to Playboy twice in my life, for a year each time. I've never understood the "Playboy has great articles" claims that people always make.

They're redundant and boring.

So....you're retirement age and tired of looking at naked women, is that it? Well...poor you, I guess...

I don't agree that something once seen neccessarily loses its appeal or ability to arouse. Some images, songs, etc retain their sexiness and erotic charge. Personally I couldn't say if this applies to Playboy or not, as it's obviously not menat to appeal to me, though I can pick it up and enjoy it from time to time (like, once every few years, if there's someone interviewed in it I'm interested in or something.) As far as porn in general goes though, I don't feel like I need more and more 'novelty' to enjoy it. I mean I'm not an addict you know ;)
