What's the wholesale price for a sex slave?

Hi everyone. I'm writing a story right now in which my main character, a twenty year old female, is kidnapped and put up for sale in a sort of modern day slave market. At this point, her kidnapper has sold her to a kind of wholesale slave vendor who in turn is going to put her on display and then sell her to a private buyer. I realized as I was writing the price bickering scene between the vendor and the kidnapper that I have no idea how much the wholesale price is on an attractive young woman. I ended up doing $7500 dollars, but I feel like that might be way too low. What is the proper median between too cheap and too expensive?

It depends on for what she will be used.

If she is to be a sex slave, the price will depend upon her looks and health. $7500 is very low. It would hardly cover the costs of the kidnapping. I think the lowest price would be at least $25K.

If this is some kind of distopia where such things are common, the price is probably about right. If it is contemporary, and the operations are strictly underground, the price is probably low.

I have written a couple of stories in that vein, and I let it be known the victims are to be sold, but I never mention a price.

From a fantasy point of view, it's hard to say. Historically, though, you might consider the African slave trade in the Antebellum South. From what I have been able to find out, healthy slaves weren't cheap. In modern terms, think Mercedes Benz. Abusing slaves was stupid and bad economics.

In today's world, though, it's a sad situation. In Somalia or Sudan a healthy slave can be picked up for the price of an AK-47, around $250. If she's young and pretty, she's going to be used for sex, along with whatever else the owner wants her to do, but I'm not sure that makes her a sex slave.

Among European sex traffickers, I believe the price is higher but I'm guessing $5K might be tops. Human life is cheap these days. I guess that's because there are so many of us.

If you're just writing a story, I would worry less about what's "real" and more about what the number you wind up with says about the girl's value. I assume that as a freshly kidnapped young girl, she's a bit like an uncut diamond. Very valuable, but nothing compared to what she could be if she's cut well. Think what you want her to be worth to her buyer, and assign her a monetary cost in that ballpark. Is she worth a large pizza? 10$ Is she worth a 1984 VW rabbit that "runs good"? $1-4k Is she worth a 50' yacht? $1m

From television programmes on the subject, I believe that the value of sex slaves from Eastern Europe rises as they are moved westwards and by the time they arrive in Amsterdam they are sold for around 5000 euros.
Russians and Albanians seem to be the worst culprits in this ghastly trade.

If a girl is really hot looking and can be sold to top end clients, she gets trained. After a time, she might be sold for sums in the $100,000 USD range, or even more. Think courtesan, not whore.

Precisely, you get more for a bottle of 18 year old single malt scotch than a bunch of 18 year old scottish grain.

they call that marriage and I have tried it a couple of times (slow learner) and find that there is no way to save money, even though you get to play now you have to pay so much later on that it is a bad value.

Well, there are some depraved dudes who can convince a not too bright girlie that a bell captain from any major hotel chain can perform a legal marriage ceremony. However, this is certainly not something that any Literotica person would try.
